Raksha Bandhan 2026: Extending the Bond of Protection to Nature

Raksha Bandhan 2026 was observed on 28 August across 17 RITE Village Tuition Centers with the participation of 293 students — 141 boys and 152 girls.

The celebration brought together the traditional values of care and protection with a meaningful message of environmental responsibility. Students prepared handmade rakhis using locally available materials and tied them to their siblings while learning about the significance of the bond.

As part of Vriksh Raksha Bandhan, students extended this promise of protection to nature by tying rakhis around trees and pledging to protect trees, plants, water, birds, animals and the environment. Where possible, students planted saplings, gave them names and took responsibility for caring for them through regular watering and maintenance.

The activity encouraged students to understand that protecting nature is not just an environmental responsibility — it is a shared promise to care for the world around us.
