Doon International School

Doon International School, Karnal solemnly and proudly celebrated Veer Bal Diwas to commemorate the supreme sacrifice of Sahibzada Zorawar Singh Ji and Sahibzada Fateh Singh Ji, the younger sons of Shri Guru Gobind Singh Ji. The day was observed with deep respect, devotion and patriotic fervour.
The programme began with Shabad Kirtan, which filled the atmosphere with spirituality and reminded students of the courage, faith and sacrifice of the Sahibzadas. Adding to the grandeur of the occasion, students performed Kavishri, beautifully narrating tales of valour and sacrifice of brave sahibzadas of Great Guru, followed by an impressive Gatka performance that showcased traditional Sikh martial art and the spirit of bravery.
On this significant day, it was also highlighted that the Hon’ble Prime Minister of India, Shri Narendra Modi Ji, honoured and awarded 17 students at the national level for their exemplary courage and inspiring deeds, further reinforcing the true spirit of Veer Bal Diwas and motivating students to become fearless and responsible citizens.
A special message by the Hon’ble Prime Minister of India, Shri Narendra Modi Ji, was played for the students, in which, he emphasized the unparalleled sacrifice of the Sahibzadas and urged the young generation to draw inspiration from their lives and imbibe values of courage, truth and patriotism.
The Managing Director, Doon International School, Karnal S.Kuljinder Mohan Singh Batth, addressed the students and motivated them to follow the path of honesty, discipline and courage shown by the Sahibzadas. He emphasized that Veer Bal Diwas is not just a day of remembrance but a reminder to live by strong moral values and stand firm for truth.
He also encouraged students to learn from the sacrifices of the Sahibzadas and apply these teachings in their daily lives by being fearless, compassionate and responsible citizens.
The programme concluded with a sense of pride and inspiration among students and staff. The celebration of Veer Bal Diwas at Doon International School, Karnal served as a meaningful tribute to the brave Sahibzadas and left a lasting impact on the young minds. The program was concluded with the National Anthem.

An impressive declamation competition was organized at Doon International School under the Vigilance Awareness Week on the topic “Vigilance: Advantages and disadvantages of being vigilant and its impact on society.”
The chief guest of the program was DSP Sandeep Kumar, HPS. He guided the students with his inspiring address and shared important information on cybercrime and women’s safety. Assistant Sub-InspectorAjay Kumar and Jasbir Singh also attended the program and addressed the school children.
The talented students of Doon International School — Drishti Uppal, Bharti, Anshika, Girisha and Janmi — presented their views on the topic of vigilance with full confidence, while Gunjan conducted the entire program with utmost ease and confidence.
The program was well coordinated by senior teachers Ms. Geetanjali Girdhar, Mr. Rohit Batan, Ms. Poonam Malhotra and Ms. Kusum.
At the closing ceremony, My Self Kuljinder Mohan Singh Batth, Managing Director of Doon International School, delivered an address quoting Lord Krishna’s inspiring message from the Gita, comparing vigilance to equanimity. I also thanked the chief guest and inspired the students with other passages from the Bhagavad Gita.
The program concluded with the national anthem.
