১৯ মে বরাক উপত্যকায় পালিত বাংলা ভাষা শহীদ দিবস। ১৯৬১ সালের এই দিনে আসামে বাংলাকে সরকারি ভাষার মর্যাদা দেওয়ার দাবিতে আন্দোলনরত ১১ জন বাঙালি প্রতিবাদী শিলচর রেলওয়ে স্টেশনে আসাম পুলিশের গুলিতে শহীদ হন।
ঐতিহাসিক দিনে জীবন উৎসর্গকারী ১১ জন শহীদ হলেন:

গতকল্য কাটিগড়ায় এক স্কুল ছাত্রের আকস্মিক মৃত্যুর কারণে গরেরগ্রাম এলপি স্কুলে এক মিনিট নিরবতা পালন করে তার আত্মার সদগতি কামনা করা হয়।

CONDOLENCE MESSAGE AND SAFETY ADVISORY TO ALL SCHOOLS

It is with profound grief and deep sorrow that the Education Department has learnt about the unfortunate demise of a young student during school hours in a private school at Silchar. The tragic incident has caused immense pain and anguish to all concerned.

The Department conveys its deepest condolences to the bereaved family and prays to the Almighty for eternal peace of the departed soul and strength to the family members to bear this irreparable loss.

This unfortunate incident serves as a serious reminder to all educational institutions regarding the importance of constant vigilance, student safety, and immediate emergency response during school hours.

Accordingly, all Heads of Institutions, teachers, and school authorities of Government, Provincialised, Private, Venture, and other educational institutions are hereby directed to strictly observe the following safety measures with immediate effect:

1. Teachers on classroom duty must remain attentive and vigilant at all times during class hours, tiffin periods, and other school activities.

2. Schools shall sensitise parents and guardians to avoid sending food items which may cause choking hazards among children, especially small fruits or food items such as litchi, grapes, hard candies, nuts, large food pieces, chewing gum, or similar items which may accidentally get stuck in the throat.

3. Students, particularly at lower primary and elementary levels, must be properly monitored while consuming food during tiffin hours.

4. Teachers and school staff should immediately respond to any signs of choking, breathing difficulty, unconsciousness, or medical distress among students.

5. All schools are advised to maintain basic emergency preparedness and ensure availability of emergency contact numbers and immediate medical support facilities.

6. Heads of Institutions shall sensitise all teaching and non-teaching staff regarding child safety protocols and emergency handling procedures.

7. Schools shall ensure proper supervision in classrooms, playgrounds, corridors, and common areas at all times.

Any negligence or lapse concerning student safety shall be viewed seriously by the Department.

All concerned are hereby instructed to circulate these directions among teachers, staff members, School Management Committees (SMCs), and parents for strict compliance in the interest of student safety and welfare.

৫৬৭ নং গড়েরগ্রাম এলপি স্কুলে সম্প্রীতিভোজন অনুষ্ঠানের কিছু মূহুর্ত। অনুষ্ঠানে উপস্থিত ছিলেন স্কুলের সকল ছাত্রছাত্রী এবং অভিভাবকবৃন্দ। উপস্থিত ছিলেন পরিচালন সমিতির সভানেত্রী সহ অন্যান্য সদস্য সদস্যাবৃন্দ ও মৈনা ক্লাস্টারের বিভিন্ন প্রতিষ্ঠানের শিক্ষক শিক্ষিকাবৃন্দ এবং এলাকার সজ্জন মণ্ডলী। সবাই একসাথে আহার গ্ৰহন করেন।
