Govt. High School Kaksar Celebrates Annual Day-cum- Ethnic Food Festival Showcasing Local Culture and Cuisine
In Ladakh, Government High School Kaksar today celebrated its Annual Day-cum- Ethnic Food Festival 2025 with great enthusiasm and participation from students, teachers, and the local community.
Chief Education Officer Kargil, Shri Sonam Wanchuk, graced the occasion as the Chief Guest, while Shri Colonel Manoj Rathi, Commanding Officer 18 MAHAR, attended as the Guest of Honour.
During the event, students set up ten stalls displaying a variety of traditional and ethnic food items. The dignitaries interacted with the students and appreciated their creativity and understanding of local cuisine and nutrition.
A colourful cultural program followed, featuring a Manqabat performance and a ramp walk highlighting the importance of consuming traditional foods over junk food.
Prizes were distributed to outstanding students and community members, including awards for Best Orderly, Best Parent, and Best SMDC Member of the Year.
In his address, the Chief Education Officer praised the efforts of the school staff and assured full support for providing students with wider exposure at the district level.
The school management also expressed heartfelt gratitude to Colonel Manoj Rathi and 18 MAHAR for their continued logistical support.
The event concluded with a word
of thanks, acknowledging the support of the Tribal Research Institute, University of Ladakh Kargil Campus, and the Ministry of Tribal Affairs for their contribution to the successful conduct of the programme.
