Expert Talk at Podar International School,
“Thoughts of Antarctica” by Dr. Madhubala Chichalkar.

Podar International School, , had the privilege of hosting an inspiring expert talk titled “Thoughts of Antarctica” by the distinguished scientist Dr. Madhubala Chichalkar. The session was organized with the active involvement of the 'Rotary Club,Karad' and the Podar Interact Club, making it a collaborative and impactful learning experience for students and staff.

Dr. Chichalkar shared her extraordinary journey of being selected by the Government of India for the prestigious Indian Scientific Expedition to Antarctica in 2017. She spent an entire year at the Maitri Research Station, one of India’s key research bases in Antarctica, braving extreme weather conditions and isolation in the pursuit of scientific knowledge.

Through vivid storytelling and real-life experiences, she described the harsh climate, unique wildlife, and the scientific work carried out in one of the most remote places on Earth. Her talk highlighted the importance of environmental conservation, climate research, and the spirit of resilience required to thrive in such conditions. She was also honored with the title of “Polar Woman” for her remarkable contribution.

The session was highly engaging and interactive, sparking curiosity among students about careers in science, research, and exploration. The involvement of the 'Rotary Club,Karad' and the Podar Interact Club further enriched the program, promoting values of service, leadership, and global awareness among students.

Dr. Chichalkar’s journey served as a powerful inspiration, encouraging young minds to dream big and pursue their goals with determination.

The expert talk was truly an enriching experience, leaving a lasting impact on everyone present and reinforcing the school’s commitment to providing holistic and experiential learning opportunities.

In the esteemed presence of the President of Rotary Club of Karad, Dr. Shekhar Kognulkar, along with Rotarians Ms. Angha Borade, Mr. Sunil Chalake, and Mr. Gajanan Kusurkar, the event was conducted successfully.
Dr. B. C. Chinchalkar also graced the occasion. The members of the Podar Interact Club actively contributed to the success of the event. Student leaders including President Ms. Ish*ta Phase, Vice President Master Jayaditya, Secretary Ms. Vibhavari Patil, and Joint Secretary Ms. Mrunal Takale played an important role in organizing and supporting the programme.
Their collective efforts and enthusiastic participation helped make the event successful.

Student Council Election 2026.

Podar International School, successfully conducted the Student Council Election on 20th April. Students actively participated in the democratic process by casting their votes and selecting their representatives. Polling booths were set up in the Library for the Primary Section and the Computer Lab for the Secondary Section.
The election was carried out smoothly with the support of teachers and enthusiastic participation from students of Grades 4 to 12. The event helped students understand the values of leadership, responsibility, and democracy.
