લાગેલી ધૂળના આવરણો જ્યારે નીચે પડ્યા;
દિવાળીની સાફ સફાઈ કરતા થોડા સ્મરણો જડ્યા !

ક્યાંક કોઈ માળીયામાં છુપાયેલું બાળપણ મળ્યું ;
જૂની તસ્વીરો જોતા ખોવાયેલું ભોળપણ મળ્યું !

લાકડી દાદાજીની ક્યાંકથી આવી હાથમાં ;
દાદાજીની કહેલી વાર્તાઓ, લાવી એ સાથમાં !

ક્યાંકથી આઠ આનાનો એ સિક્કો મળી આવ્યો !!!!
બાળપણની અમીરીની યાદ એ સાથે લાવ્યો.

ગોખેલા જેમાંથી ગુણાકારના પાળાઓને ;
શાળાની યાદ અપાવી એ 'દેશી હિસાબ'ના પાનાઓએ !

વર્ષો જૂનો પરિવારનો એક આલ્બમ હાથ આવ્યો ;
હાલના વેરઝેર ભૂલી જ્યાં આખો પરિવાર સાથ આવ્યો.

હતી એક નાની મોટર, પપ્પા એ જે આપી હતી,
હૃદયમાં જેને હંમેશા સાચવીને રાખી હતી !

શાળાના સમયની થોડી તસ્વીર હતી;
ખોવાયેલી એ દોસ્તી જ ત્યારે મારી જાગીર હતી...

તાજી થઇ એ યાદો જે ઘરના દરેક ખૂણે પડી હતી;
બસ સમય સાથે તેના પર થોડીક ધૂળ ચડી હતી !!

સમયની ધૂળના એ થરો થોડા આઘા કર્યા ;
દિવાળીની સાફ સફાઈ કરતા થોડા સ્મરણો જડ્યા......

Subject: Concerns Regarding the Implementation of Continuous Clearing

Respected Sir/Madam,

We would like to bring to your kind attention certain concerns regarding the implementation of the Continuous Clearing system.

We, the bankers, always stand ready and willing to adopt and implement new systems introduced for the betterment of the banking sector and the nation. Just as we celebrate every innovation as a festival, we take pride in participating in the progress of our country’s financial ecosystem.

However, before introducing any such system, it is important to consider whether Continuous Clearing is truly necessary in today’s digital era. India is rapidly advancing toward digital banking — with IMPS, NEFT, RTGS, and UPI providing real-time or near-real-time fund settlements. These digital payment systems are already efficient and meet the needs of customers effectively. Hence, one must question whether Continuous Clearing fits well into this modern framework.

Currently, our country has around 12 PSU banks, 21 private banks, and over 1,400 Urban Cooperative Banks (UCBs) — where the number of UCBs is significantly higher. Unfortunately, most UCBs operate with limited staff strength and depend heavily on external IT vendors for technological support. In many UCBs, one staff member handles multiple responsibilities, reducing focus and efficiency.

In such circumstances, maintaining a healthy work-life balance becomes increasingly difficult for banking staff. If we continue to add new processes without assessing their practical feasibility, it will only increase the operational burden, especially on cooperative and smaller banks.

Additionally, the CTS system itself already accommodates around five annual holidays as per NPCI, along with state-specific holidays. The larger banks have separate departments or dedicated teams to handle these operations, but for UCBs, such segregation of duties is often not possible.

Therefore, while we understand the intention behind introducing Continuous Clearing, we sincerely request that before its full-scale implementation, the opinions and feedback of all bankers—especially those from cooperative and smaller banks—be carefully considered. This will ensure that the system benefits all stakeholders equitably and remains practical in operation.

With due respect, we request you to kindly review and reconsider the implementation process, keeping in mind the ground realities faced by the banking community.
