We are pleased to share that Ms. Nidhi Singh, Ph.D. scholar from the Department of Electrical Engineering, has been honored with the Best Paper Award at the 22nd IEEE International Colloquium on Signal Processing & Its Applications (CSPA 2026), organized by the IEEE Control Systems Society.

Her award-winning paper, titled “Statistical Signal Processing Framework for XPM-Induced Phase Noise in All-Optical QPSK Aggregation,” was presented at the conference held in Malaysia. She is pursuing her doctoral research under the supervision of Prof. Yatindra Nath Singh.

We are proud to share that our esteemed alumnus, Prof. Saby Mitra (BT/ME/1985), has been appointed as the John H. Harland Dean of Goizueta Business School, Emory University.

A distinguished academic leader, Prof. Mitra currently serves as Dean of the Warrington College of Business at the University of Florida. Throughout his career, he has made significant contributions to the fields of information systems, business analytics, technology management, and innovation, while holding faculty and leadership positions at leading institutions in the United States.

We extend our heartfelt congratulations to Prof. Mitra on this remarkable achievement and wish him every success in his new leadership role at Emory University.

IIT Kanpur at Bharat Innovates 2026 | Nice, France

We are proud to represent India's deep-tech ecosystem at the inaugural edition of Bharat Innovates 2026, held at the Palais des Expositions de Nice, France (June 14–16, 2026).

Led by Director IIT Kanpur Prof. Manindra Agrawal, the IIT Kanpur delegation showcased a range of cutting-edge technologies at Booth #21 - including Bhu Parikshak (AI-driven Intelligent Decision System), IT-OT Security Operations Centre, and Dual AAV-mediated gene therapy for Leber congenital amaurosis.

We were honoured to welcome Hon'ble Union Minister of Commerce and Industry, Shri Piyush Goyal, at our booth. He interacted with our leadership team, exploring the breadth of innovation emerging from IIT Kanpur and its potential to address critical challenges across technology domains.

The Women’s Association, IIT Kanpur organised a two-day Wellness and Activity Programme for children and adolescents, bringing together expert-led sessions on mental well-being, yoga, meditation, and self-defence.

A key highlight of the programme was an insightful talk by renowned psychiatrist Dr Alok Bajpai, who shared valuable perspectives on adolescent mental health, emotional resilience, and the importance of creating supportive environments for young individuals.

Further enriching the event, Mrs Anamika Rathode and Mr Balram Yadav conducted engaging lecture-demonstrations on yoga, meditation, and self-defence, encouraging participants to embrace mindfulness, physical fitness, and personal safety.

Speaking on the occasion, Mrs Amrita Bhushan, Secretary of the Women’s Association, emphasised the initiative’s goal of nurturing health-conscious, resilient, and confident young individuals.

Through expert guidance and enthusiastic participation, the programme promoted positive lifestyle habits and holistic well-being from an early age.
