Greetings Everyone,

Hope you all are doing well!

The Department of Humanities and Social Sciences, Indian Institute of TechnologyKanpur, invites abstracts from research scholars for Anviksha’s second edition on thetheme “Identities”. This multidisciplinary conference aims to explore variousunderstandings of identity and the multidimensionality of the processes of identityformation. Identity has emerged as an urgent and complex issue in the contemporaryworld. negotiated, and contested, fostering dialogues essential to understanding and navigatingthe tensions of a rapidly changing society.

Proposals are invited from research scholars in the Humanities and Social Sciences. Please note that to participate in the conference you must be enrolled in a doctoralprogramme. For shortlisted proposals co-authored with faculty members, only theresearch scholar will be invited to present the papers.

Conference Concluded 🤝🏻

We received over 500 abstracts. Out of these, 50 were shortlisted. Supervised by professors and supported by the staff, over 25 volunteers worked with 2 DPGC Student Representatives to bring the participants and attendees on this forum.

Countless hours have been spent in preparing panels and curating the conference kit. Admittedly, countless hours of sleep has also been sacrificed. Almost 6 months of hard work has come to fruition as Anviksha'24 was concluded today!

This post is about acknowledging the efforts of the Organising Committee in making this event a success. HSS community extends its thanks to: Prof Esha Chatterjee (), Prof Rajarshi Sengupta (), Prof Sushruth Ravish, Ms Mani Dixit (), and Mr Mayank Mishra (._ ).

Taking the exuberance and enthusiasm forward to future editions of Anviksha🥂

Poster Reveal ✨

Providing a platform for research scholars, Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur's Humanities and Social Sciences Department is hosting the first edition of its national conference, Anviksha.

Anviksha, which translates as "search", is visualised here through the depiction of a wide-open eye. The arrangement of the repetitive geometric motifs is employed to emphasise the difference between void space and patterned surface; in other words, the theme "boundaries" is depicted here through this variance.
