A Moment of Pride for MPGI

It is with great pride that we share that Mohammad Owais, BTech CSE (AI) first year student, MPEC Kanpur, has been selected as a Google Gemini Student Ambassador 2026

Even in his first year, he will now represent Gemini AI on campus with a focus on:

Achieving this prestigious role in the first year itself is truly commendable. We congratulate Owais and wish him continued success.

MPGI organized a guest session on Climate Satyagraha featuring renowned environmentalist and “Solar Man of India,” Chetan Singh Solanki, along with Dr. Sunil Mishra. The session witnessed enthusiastic participation from students and faculty members.

The session aimed to create awareness among students and faculty members regarding climate change, environmental protection, sustainable living, and the importance of living within Earth’s natural limits. The program also focused on inspiring participants to adopt eco-friendly practices in their daily lives.

A special highlight of the event was the Climate Satyagraha Pledge, where all attendees pledged to live within Earth’s limits, conserve natural resources, and support sustainable environmental practices.

A visit was conducted to Maharana Pratap College of Ayurveda and Medical Sciences and Maharana Pratap Dental College. During the visit, discussions were held with faculty members from the Department of Ras Shastra and the Department of Dravya Guna regarding the relevance, importance, and application of Ayurveda in contemporary society.

Ms Jitka Klett is an internationally acclaimed Czech-Slovak fashion designer and Co-founder, MeWe9 Global s.r.o. with more than 30 years of experience in building brands and creative projects. Her work has been presented in 29 countries around the globe, reflecting her strong international presence and reputation.

Pawan Karanjiya is Co-founder, MeWe9 Global s.r.o., consultant, and expert in finance, and international trade. He is a founder and director of Surasundari Consulting Private Limited in India.

He has worked at the Centre for Monitoring Indian Economy (India), UBS Investment Bank (Stamford, USA), and the Italian Trade Agency at the Embassy of Italy in New Delhi.

The meeting was attended by Dr. Vivek Singh, College Director; Dr. Nirankar Goyal, Former District Ayurveda Officer; and Mr. Saurabh, Director of Agro Pharma. Various aspects related to the promotion of Ayurveda, its integration with modern healthcare practices, and future opportunities in Ayurvedic education and research were discussed in detail.

World Asthma Day 2026: Closing the Gap in Care
At Maharana Pratap College of Pharmacy, Kanpur, we believe that breathing should never be a struggle. Today, May 5, we join the global community in observing World Asthma Day.
This year’s theme—"Access to anti-inflammatory inhalers for everyone with asthma – still an urgent need"—strikes at the heart of pharmaceutical care. As future pharmacists and healthcare providers, it is our mission to ensure that life-saving medication isn't just developed, but is accessible and affordable for every patient.

Why Anti-Inflammatory Inhalers Matter
Asthma isn't just about "wheezing"; it’s about underlying inflammation. While "rescue" inhalers provide quick relief, anti-inflammatory (controller) inhalers are the real heroes that:
🔸 Reduces airway swelling and mucus production.
🔸 Prevents long-term lung damage.
🔸 Decreases the frequency of emergency attacks.
How We Are Making a Difference
Our students and faculty are dedicated to:
1. Patient Counseling: Educating the Kanpur community on the correct "inhaler technique" (it’s harder than it looks!).
2. Awareness: Breaking the stigma around steroid-based inhalers.
3. Advocacy: Supporting policies that bring affordable respiratory care to rural and urban populations alike.
