Sukanya Ray, Assistant Professor, School of Human Ecology, .speak TISS Mumbai, was invited to deliver a two-day workshop from 30th - 31st October, on Trauma Informed Counselling, for the 9 Counsellors at the Institute Counselling Services, Indian Institute of Technology, Kanpur. It was an intensive two-day hands-on training where the counsellors, most of whom are registered clinical psychologists, learnt about treating complex trauma and were imparted with practice skills to become trauma-informed in their work with students, especially for handling students in crisis. We appreciate the initiative taken by the IIT Kanpur Institute Counselling Services, to deepen their counsellors' skills in attending to students' mental health concerns.

Ms. Sukanya is a clinical psychologist and trauma therapist by training and has been associated with TISS since 2018 as a faculty member. She is the faculty-in-charge for the Short Term Programs in Trauma Therapy, which are pioneering programs by TISS in the field of Traumatology.

The workshop will be led by Inna Khazan, PhD, a pioneer in HRV Biofeedback and Mindfulness and faculty at Harvard Medical School, and includes the first-ever BIOFEEDBACK CERTIFICATION INTERNATIONAL ALLIANCE BCIA-approved didactic training in HRV Biofeedback in India, with options for hands-on practicum and hybrid talks. The Post Graduate Diploma in Trauma Focused Therapy is designed for professionals who wish to become more than just trauma-informed. The immersive course is ideal for professionals with a few years of experience. Announcing the 5th batch of TISS and Rahbar’s flagship course : The PG Diploma in Supervision for Mental Health Practice. Introducing the first Hybrid Learning Programme for Supervision.

Recognising the gap in India in terms of access to good quality supervision to support mental health professionals through their professional journeys, this course was developed keeping international competency frameworks and sociocultural considerations in mind. We take pride in knowing that supervisors who have graduated from this programme have been supporting psychotherapists in diverse contexts across India, Dubai, Singapore and New Zealand.
This is the only intensive supervisor training and certification programme in India and is pantheoretical in its approach. The programme focuses on reflective practice, trauma focused and social justice oriented lenses in Supervision for therapists of all theoretical orientations.

We invite applicants (senior psychotherapists who are currently supervising or wish to take up supervisory roles) to take their journeys as supervisors forward with us..
