𝗛𝗮𝗽𝗽𝘆 𝗪𝗼𝗺𝗲𝗻'𝘀 𝗗𝗮𝘆

The world has two orders of energies:
* Masculine energy (𝗣𝘂𝗿𝘂𝘀𝗵𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗵)
* Feminine energy (𝗣𝗿𝗮𝗸𝗿𝗶𝘁𝗶)

Both energies are required to restore the balance of the universe.

But, more often we have forgotten about the feminine energy and pushed the masculine energy beyond its measure and control.

This is the reason why the whole world has become one big chaos.

Let's restore the world balance by identifying the feminine energy within us and within our surroundings.

𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗟𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗠𝗶𝗻𝗱𝘀𝗲𝘁

As it is quoted many times by leaders that living in the past breaks your present and deteriorates your future. Therefore, never do that if a person wants to lead a balanced and peaceful life.

But often it happens with all of us when we try to learn something from someone.

𝗙𝗼𝗿 𝗲𝘅𝗮𝗺𝗽𝗹𝗲: If you are learning a new tool from your colleague, or a new method to solve a specific aptitude problem from your friend, or some pointers on your presentation skills from your manager aka boss, you immediately switch to the past whenever there is a disagreement.

It is a basic human tendency, whenever we try to learn a new thing and we are exposed to new knowledge, we do not accept it instantly. Especially as we grow old, we believe that whatever we know is right and we are not that open to new learnings.

In this chain of events when there occurs a disagreement between you and the person from whom you intend to learn, then 𝘀𝘄𝗶𝗳𝘁𝗹𝘆 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗯𝗿𝗮𝗶𝗻 𝗿𝗲𝗰𝗮𝗹𝗹𝘀 𝗮 𝗽𝗮𝘀𝘁 𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝘄𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗲 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗲𝘅𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗿𝗲𝘀𝗽𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝗽𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗼𝗻 𝘄𝗮𝘀𝗻’𝘁 𝗴𝗼𝗼𝗱. 𝗔𝗻𝗱 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗯𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗲𝗾𝘂𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗶𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗽𝗿𝗲𝘀𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝘁𝗼 𝗷𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗳𝘆 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗲𝗴𝗼. This disturbs the learning equilibrium.

𝗔 𝗳𝗲𝘄 𝗺𝗼𝘀𝘁 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗺𝗼𝗻 𝗲𝘅𝗮𝗺𝗽𝗹𝗲𝘀 𝗮𝗿𝗲:
1) When spouses teach each other something (past events drive right into their conversation and the learning becomes a quarrel)
2) When your manager is teaching you something, you bring the past event right into consideration when the manager was rude to you.
3) When your sibling or parents are trying to teach you something important or when children are trying to teach something new to their respective parents (the past events becomes the center point of discussion rather than learning)

As mentioned in 𝗦𝗵𝗿𝗲𝗲 𝗕𝗵𝗮𝗴𝗮𝘃𝗮𝗱 𝗚𝗶𝘁𝗮, Lord Krishna and Arjun were best friends but when Arjun was confused and was not ready to fight against his own brothers and family, he surrendered to Krishna and requested to guide him. At this moment, Lord Krishna became the master and Arjun became the servitor (student). Arjun received all the lessons of Bhagavad Gita from his master. He did not switch to the past events and questioned Lord Krishna’s teachings.

In the same manner, 𝘄𝗵𝗲𝗻 𝘄𝗲 𝗵𝗮𝘃𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗶𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗼𝗳 𝗹𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗻 𝗯𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘀𝘁𝘂𝗱𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗹𝗲𝘁 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗺𝗮𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗵𝗲𝗹𝗽 𝘆𝗼𝘂. Do not question the authority of the master, based on a past event between the two of you. 𝗗𝗼 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗱𝘂𝘁𝘆 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗻𝗼𝘁 𝗾𝘂𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗶𝘁.

Demystifying Learning:

A simple hack to this is let's pick just 2 breaths out of thousands that we breathe in a day and say it loud, daily:

1) Breath 1: I will not give up.
2) Breath 2: I will not give up.

𝐘𝐨𝐮 𝐜𝐡𝐚𝐧𝐠𝐞𝐝 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐞𝐱𝐩𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐚𝐠𝐚𝐢𝐧!

Now, this is something interesting, and I believe most of us would have experienced this.

Recently, I invested a certain amount in few equities. I had a clear objective of when to retrieve the value and how much is my expectation. But, when my investment achieved the desired value, my expectation changed. I started expecting more, because the time in which I was expecting the values to increase was earlier than expected.

This is when we start falling into the trap of “𝐯𝐨𝐥𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐥𝐞 𝐞𝐱𝐩𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧”. We need more. Rather than thinking about the value we have received, we shift our focus on value to be achieved.

It is good to think about more value. It is also good to make higher profits. But, we need to define stick to the purpose with which the investment was made.

𝐅𝐨𝐫 𝐞𝐱𝐚𝐦𝐩𝐥𝐞: If I am investing USD 1000 in equities, and I am aiming to gain a respectable 15% in a year. Then it is important to define the purpose of the investment. (Note: Purpose cannot be simply multiplying of the money. That means a person can’t say that I just want to be rich and that is the purpose. If someone has such thoughts then be mindful of that person. The purpose gives value to your investment and value is the key everyone should look for.)

Let my purpose is to purchase a piece of land with the said investment. Now, the catch is if I receive the 15% gain earlier than a year, then rather than reinvesting and holding for longer time, I will encash the value and fulfill my purpose. And if it is taking more than a year then I will wait for that time when my investment receive the aimed return and then do the needful.

𝐈𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐡𝐨𝐩𝐞 𝐨𝐟 𝐡𝐢𝐠𝐡 𝐯𝐚𝐥𝐮𝐞 & 𝐪𝐮𝐢𝐜𝐤 𝐦𝐨𝐧𝐞𝐲 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐬𝐡𝐨𝐫𝐭 𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐦 𝐡𝐚𝐩𝐩𝐢𝐧𝐞𝐬𝐬, 𝐰𝐞 𝐨𝐟𝐭𝐞𝐧 𝐦𝐢𝐬𝐬 𝐨𝐮𝐭 𝐨𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐥𝐨𝐧𝐠 𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐦 𝐩𝐞𝐚𝐜𝐞.

Let’s not be a victim of “𝐯𝐨𝐥𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐥𝐞 𝐞𝐱𝐩𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧”. Let’s focus on “𝐩𝐮𝐫𝐩𝐨𝐬𝐞𝐟𝐮𝐥 𝐞𝐱𝐩𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧”.

Defining the purpose and then working towards it will generate value not only for you but also for others as well.

(Disclaimer: There are many aspects that can be discussed in this article. As of now, my focus is only on the expectation part.)

While I was reading the holy Bhagvad Gita, I observed one very simple thing (though there are infinite lessons to be learned), that throughout the conversation with Arjun, Krishna maintained his calm and composure. And so did Arjun.

They both were standing in the warfield where uncertainty was at its paramount. But, both of them maintained the peace within.

This peace led their conversation heard by the entire universe. This is what I believe is the power of calmness.

At work, we often experience rage, nagging, yelling, insecurity etc. One of the key reason for such negativities is "raising voice". There is always one speaker who keeps yelling in order to make his/her point and in this process the audience is lost.

To build a great all we have to do is ensure that no one has to raise their voice in order to be heard. Just do that and you will experience a wonderful organisation.

Involvement is good but when involvement subsumes your identity then it is a concern.

A majority of us work for an organization throughout our life and during the journey, our identity gets associated with it (Mr X - a senior manager of XYZ Company), etc.

But when we lose this association then suddenly we realize that no one cares for you now. You have become "𝐨𝐫𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐚𝐫𝐲".

Instead of becoming ordinary then, let's focus on the ordinary now.

𝐒𝐭𝐞𝐩𝟏 - Acceptance of being ordinary: First accept it and then make advancement in it.
𝐒𝐭𝐞𝐩𝟐 - Recognize the journey from being ordinary to extra-ordinary.
𝐒𝐭𝐞𝐩𝟑 - Just do it.
