The Brushman’s School of Arts is a different entity in the field of fine arts. It’s built up with a genuine acumen by Sreejith Brushman, who has a standing as reputed painter and sculptor. Located in the heart of Kannur city, famous for its folklores and looms, The Brushman’s School of Art had helped a large number of youngsters to grab plum posts in visual media, including Cinema. Started in 1983
, the institute got its recognition from the Government of Kerala in 1985. First one of its kind in Kannur, the The Brushman’s School of Arts has grown during the last two decades to unbelievable heights producing a large number of Artists and Designers of standing originality, who are in the forefront of advertising fields in the State and abroad. Over the two decades, the institution has nurtured in large number of distinguished Artists thereby contributing greatly to the art of our country. The institution has three major departments Viz; Painting, Sculpture, Applied Art & Animation The Fine Arts Department helps in the study of various traditional media and ways of expression besides encouraging innovations both in ideas and techniques. It emphasizes study from the environment. The Applied Arts Department trains students in Advertising and communication media to help them become Professional Designers. Right from the foundation courses, a student is led to advertising designs. Studies in typography are supplemented with experience in painting section, illustration through reproduction methods in processing and engraving section, which has great market in the art world. Animation Department introduce students to the Computer Graphics in various type of Advertising designs from conventional style to latest 3D modeling Soft-wares (3D-Max, Maya) The training reserves them a cutting edge in Advertising and Animation Keeping in view of the latest structural reforms in the area of Applied Arts, additional exposure to Computer Graphics has been introduced in the syllabi of this course. This is essential to enhance the student instincts and promote themselves in the area of Art Director, Animators, Graphic Designers and other Communication Media specialists. Coaching provided for:
