It has been a long awaited desire of the people of Adakkathodeto have a high school.Fr.Augustine Kannadikkara took charge as the parish priest of Adakkathode parish in 1975 May.during that time Adakkathode was an isolated region. He had two dreams to fulfil that is development of travelling facilities and educational facilities.He had worked hard to actualise these dreams.On 24/7/1977 a committee
was formed to begin a school.In 1978 a building with 5 class rooms was built. In1981 Adakkathode St. Joseph's H.S was sanctioned.The first manager was Fr.Abraham kappankunnel. He took initiative to do everything for opening the school.In 1982 Fr.Abraham Kappankunnel was transferred and Fr.Sebastian Pulickal took charge as the Parish priest and the school was begun during his time. The school began to function on fifth July 1982.First H.M was Mr. In the beginning there were 3 divisions with 101 students,6 teachers and 2 non-teaching staff.In1984-85 St.Joseph's H.S became a full-fledged school with 9 divisions. In 1988 this school was incorporated in to the Manathavady Corporate educational agency.Mrs.P.J Mary, Mr.K.M Jose, Sr.K.A Annakutty, Mr.K.C Devasia and Mr.M.M Joseph were the headmasters who had worked hard for the development of the school.Now under the guidance of Fr.Robin Vadakkumcherry, the Corporate manager,Fr.Varghese Mulakudiyankal, the local manager and uder the leadership of the headmaster,Sri.Sebastian.J .Mukkadan the school is functioning well.We have 216 students,11 teachers and 4 non-teaching staff. The P.T.A and Mother P.T.A also work hard and actively for the development of the school.
