Atopic dermatitis
It is a chronic pruritic inflammatory skin disease of unknown origin,that usually starts in early infancy .AD is commonly associated with elevates levels of immunoglobin E(igE), it is a part of progression that may lead to subsequent allergic disease .
Symptoms notes:
Eczematous lesion
Pruritis
Personal history of astma or hay fever or a history of atopic disease in first degree relative.
In ayurveda it can be correlated with CHARMADALA,
Charmadala affects the third layer of skin named ‘sweda’
Site of lesion noted
Uras- chest
Sakthi -thighs
Janu-knee
Vadana-face
Gala- neck
Vrushna
Lakshnans noted:
Raktha -redness
Kandu- itiching
Sparsa asaha- tenderness ,painful to touch
Saruk dala- pain, crack in skin
Case presentation:
A male child aged 7 years with no apparent history of prenatal and postnatal incidence, immunized as per the schedule. As told by the mother the patient was said to be apparently healthy 3 weeks back gives history of fall ,following which his right knee got injured, thereafter noticed rashes associated with itching , later these rashes progress to papular skin lesions which were oozing in nature, over his chest ,face,left thigh and right knee regions ,as his condition worsened he came to our hospital
