Starting A Motorcycle After It Has Been Sitting For A Long Time
requires a methodical approach to avoid damaging the engine or fuel system.

The fuel degrades after roughly 6 months and the battery is likely dead.

1, Initial Assessment.
*Check the Residents.
Mouse nest in air box ,under seat or in the exhaust.
They may chew wiring.
*Inspect Tyres.
Check for cracks(dry rot) and flat spots.
*Look for leaks under the bike.
Check oil level and colour (If it looks milky , moisture has entered).

2,Fuel & Battery.(The two big hurdles)
Drain the tank entirely and refill with fresh fuel. The old one can turn in to varnish and clog the jets.
The battery likely dead or damaged.Try charging it with a smart charger /tender But be prepared to replace it if it doesn't hold a charge.

3,Pre-Start Engine Maintenance.
It is best to change the oil to remove any contensation that built up over the year
Remove the spark plugs and pour a small teaspoon of motor oil or marvel mystery oil in to each spark plug hole.This prevents damage on the first start from dry cylinder walls.
*Turn the engine by hand.
While the plugs are out ,turn the rear wheel while in a high gear ,or use a socket on the crank shaft to make sure the engine is not seized.

4, Starting the Bike.
Prime the fuel system.
If you have the fuel injection, turn the key on and off 3-4 times to let the pump fill the lines.If the carburetors turn the pet cock on and wait a minute.
*Use the kick start if available.
Kick it a few times with the ignition off to circulate oil.Then turn the key on and try to start it.
Do not rev immediately.
Once it starts ,let it idle gently.Do not rev it hard immediately as the oil needs time to reach the top end of the engine.

5,Final Safety Check.

Brakes.
Ensure the levers do not feel 'spongy' .Old break fluids can absorb water .Test them at low speeds before riding.

Chain.
Clean and lubricate the chain as it likely dried out.

Test Ride.
Take a very slow ,short trip around the block to listen for noises,Feel for smooth operation and ensure the Tyres are gripping.

If the bike is carbureted and has been sitting for over a year,it is highly likely the carburetor will need to be cleaned or rebuilt due to gummed - up jets.

Confined space is Any space with limited mean of access and egress, which is not designed for general occupancy And have few common and can have specific hazards.

HAZARDS.

*Enrichment OR Deficiency of Oxygen.
*Presence of toxic or flammable gas.
*Limited Access and Egress.
*Illumine hazard. (Light can be too less or too bright.)
*Slip, Trip, and Fall hazard.
*Thermal hazard (Extreme temperature).
*Noise hazard.

COMMON REQUIREMENTS FOR CSE(Confined Space Entry.)

*A valid work permit.
*CSE Standby man(Entry attendant).
*Gas test _Prior to entry
even after any work break and as required by permit.
*Sufficient lighting and ventilation.
*CSE plan including emergency/rescue procedure.
*Isolation of all sources of energy.
*Hot Or Cold permit(s) as applicable.

LEL limit in Confined space.
It is the percentage of combustible material in a gas or vapor state.
OSHA states "Atmosphere with a concentration of flammable vapors at or above 10% of the Lower Explosive Level(LEL) are considered hazardous.

ENGINEERING DRAWING.
*A type of technical drawing used to convey information about an object.
*Producing an Engineering drawing is DRAFTING.
*Drawing, to specify the geometry, necessary for the construction of a component is called DETAIL DRAWING.

MASTER DRAWING/ASSEMBLY DRAWING.
Usually a number of drawings are necessary to specify completely even a simple component. These drawings are linked together by a MASTER DRAWING. This is commonly known as ASSEMBLY DRAWING.
*It gives the DRAWING NUMBERS of the detailed Components, Quantities required, construction Materials, and Possibly 3D Images that can be used to locate individual items.

VELVET.
VELVET is atype of woven tufted fabric in which the cut threads are evenly distributed with a short,dense pile,giving it a distinctive soft feel.
It can be woven from any type of Yarn,while in the past it was traditionally woven from silk,today cheaper materials are commonly used alone or in combination such as cotton,linen,wool or synthetic fibres.

DRAW FRAME.
Daw Frame is the operation by which slivers are blended,doubled and leveled.Slivers are alongated when passing through a group of pair rollers,each pair is moving faster than previous one.
This is an important machine of the spinning mill because it also magnifies the Yarn.Quality of Yarn is directly related to the quality of Draw Frame sliver.

Cots Grinding
Purpose
*Remove 0.25mm rubber to get layer of fresh rubber.
*Ensure not to remove more than 0.3mm in a single cut which may lead to excessive heat build up.
Grinding intervals should be adjusted according to the cot's quality, usage period,quality requirements and manufacturer's recommendations.
PROCEDURES
1,Measure the outer dia of cot before grinding.
2,Set the grinding machine to remove 0.25mm from initial diameter.
3,Grind the cot with a total contact time with stone appropriately 8 seconds.
4,Measure the outer diameter of cot after grinding.
It should be 0.25mm smaller. If not,the machine must be reset.
5,Check taper and eccentricity with eccentricity tester.The difference between LHS&RHS cot should be below +/-0.025.

Cotton Crisis .The great Indian cotton drain.

Cotton is a natural plant fibre which grows around the seed of the cotton plant.
Fibres are the starting point of the production chain of Textile industry.
2500 BC Chinese, Egyptian and South American civilizations began weaving cotton fabrics.
The top cotton producing countries include India, China and United states while China has been the world's largest consumer of cotton.
India has the distinction of having the largest area under cotton cultivation which is about 37 percent of the world area under cotton cultivation between 10.5 million hectares to 12.20 hectares.
India is the largest producer of the world accounting for about 22 percent of the world cotton production.
Each year India produces an average of 5770 thousand metric tonnes of cotton.
The leading producers of cotton in India are Gujrat and Maharashtra.
Now,the world's largest producer of cotton, India, witnessing a steep rise in domestic prices of raw cotton,may be facing 'The great Indian cotton drain'.
The root of the problem stems from the low yield of the cotton crop in several states such as Gujarat, Madhyapradesh, Rajasthan, Karnataka and Maharashtra.

The Roving/Simplex Machine.

Simplex is an intermediate machine between Draw frame and Ring frame. It is situated after the Comber.
The sliver from Comber is thicker and it is not suitable to feed into the Ring frame directly to produce Yarn.
So the objective of Simplex is to convert Sliver into thinner Sliver for the convenience of subsequent process.
Simplex transform the drawn Sliver into Roving.
During the Roving frame process, the Sliver is drafted many times from it's original length and a little amount of twist is inserted in to it,to improve the strength of Roving.
The main function of Simplex machine is the attenuation of drawn Sliver and insert small amount of twist to give required strength of Roving.
Simplex converts the drawn Sliver into a thin strand of fibres having some amount of Twisting.
