St.Dominic's Higher Secondary School Kanjirappally St. Domincs Higher Secondary School believes in 'holistic' education. At this time the governenment of Travancore decided to start Govt. Dominics church.

Enriched by the selfless services of the illustrious predecessors like Blessed Arch Bishop Mar Mathew Kavukattu, Bharat Kesari Mannathu Padmanabhan and DC kizhakkemuri, the School has grown adept to shoulder the emerging responsibilities in moulding an intelectually mature, mentally stable, emotionally posed and spiritually enlightened young generation. In 1863, the Arch Bishop of Varapuzha issued

an order that all Roman Catholic Chruches should open schools near their churches and should impart education to children in the Arch Diocese. Accordingly, a school shed was put up in front of the present Cathedral Kanjirappally.There were only two classes in the begining. schools in each village.Consequently the primary school that belonged to St.Domincs church was handed over to Educational Department in the year 1884. In the year 1936 the govt. V.M school was handed over to St. In 1938 the School was Upgaraded as a Malayalam High school.
