It is 18 Kms from Kangra and 7 Kms from Gaggal (Airport) on Mandi- Pathankot National Highway. Situated in truly commanding site of famous Kangra Valley in the immediate vicinity of snow clad Dhauladar ranges of the Himalayas, the college presents a unique picturesque valley view, abundant beauty and bliss. The College is established in 2006, is a private, self financed, non- aided educational institute managed by OCEAN Society, affiliated to H.P University Shimla and recognised by NCTE and UGC. The institution is the first youngest college in the entire Himachal Pradesh to be accredited by 'NAAC' with 'B' grade and has 200 seats intake in B.Ed. Course besides three professional courses BBA, BCA and PGDCA affiliated to H.P University. It has also been identified by National Testing Service-India, Ministry of Human Resource Development, Govt. of India, for the establishment of Regional Field Unit. Dronacharya College believes in the philosophy "Where knowledge is created, not just communicated". The College aims at imparting life-long learning and provides a learner centric rather than teacher- centric educational process. The College has acquired excellent infrastructure in the form of a four storey building (M.Ed. & B.Ed. Block) and a three storey building for Management & Computer Science Dept. Block designed to have all the facilities necessary for a healthy institution. The college boasts of well equipped and conducive big Air-conditioned multipurpose hall, large and airy class rooms, Educational Technology lab, Computer lab (Wi-Fi facility), a state-of-art language laboratory, Social Science lab, Science and Mathematics lab, computerized Library with more than 12000 books/journal etc., staff room, separate hostels for boys and girls, indoor and outdoor games facilities and Canteen facilities. The college has well qualified, dedicated and devoted teachers to explore the true potential of students and showing excellent results from the first academic session. A special attention is being paid towards personality development programmes and 100 % placement assistance is being provided to the students. The socio-educational activities are looked after by different clubs of the college. The Red Ribbon Club of the college has been nominated for International Red Ribbon award by the district AIDS authorities and won many district and state level awards for excellent services in the field of AIDS eradication drive. The students participate in cultural programmes organized at state and district level and a number of them have won prizes. Various Co-curricular activities like National and State level declamation, Seminars, Workshops, Sports and Cultural competitions, Guest lectures, Yoga/Art of Living Classes, exhibition of teaching aids etc. are being organized to broaden the mental horizon of the students. PTA & Alumni associations and Internal Quality Assurance Cell functions actively to provide constructive feed back and strengthen the overall functioning of the institution. The college publishes a magazine named "Lakshay" every year. The administration of the college is well structured with due provisions for delegation of authority and responsibility. Formation of different committees helps in making the complete governance transparent.
