Yesterday (03-12-2025), Mr. Ravi Prasad Sharma (Yoga Ravi ), research scholar of the Department successfully defended his PhD Thesis Defence Open Viva Voce.

Dr. Garima, Associate Professor and HoD, Department of Yog, Maharishi University of Management and Technology, Bilaspur (C.G.) was the external examiner.

The title of the thesis is - 'A Study on the Historical Development of Hatha Yoga in Assam'

He has completed his research work in the supervision of Dr. Ujjwal Arun Maske (Ujjwal Maske), Head In-charge and Assistant Professor, Dept. of Yogic Science and Naturopathy, MSSV

News of the Celebration of Universal Brotherhood Day 2025

Universal Brotherhood Day Celebrated at MSSV on 11-09-2025

Dept. of Yogic Science and Naturopathy of Mahapurusha Srimanta Sankaradeva Viswavidyalaya organised an hour long session to celebrate Universal Brotherhood Day on September 11, 2025, in the gracious presence of Retd. Founder Professor & HoD Prof. Balinarayan Phukan; Asst. Registrar Sjt. Mrinal Kr. Gogoi; Head In-charge of the Dept. Dr. Ujjwal Maske, faculty members and students.

The programme commenced with the lighting of the ceremonial lamp followed by the introduction of the program by Ms. Nazia Akhtar. A chorus was then presented by the students, which was followed by a drama performance highlighting the spirit of brotherhood.

Prof. Balinarayan Phukan delivered a thought-provoking speech on the objectives, life and teachings of Swami Vivekananda. He encouraged the students to practise spirituality in the life so that the feeling of brotherhood can be developed. This was followed by an address by Sjt. Mrinal Kr Kashyap Gogoi, who spoke on the value of brotherhood in today’s society; encouraged the students and emphasized the importance of moral values in daily life.

Vote of thanks was delivered by Mr. Rituraj Boruah. The event was hosted by Ms. Nazia Akhtar .
