An awareness meeting on vector-borne diseases such as Malaria, Japanese Encephalitis, Dengue, and other mosquito-borne illnesses was successfully organized in our school on 17/08/26 in collaboration with the Government of Assam.
The programme aimed to create awareness among students and teachers about prevention, early detection, and community responsibility in controlling these diseases. Such school-based awareness activities support Assam’s wider public health efforts against malaria, JE, dengue, and related vector-borne diseases

Celebrating 80th Independence Day..

Our school celebrated the 80th Independence Day today with great enthusiasm and patriotic spirit.
The day began with the flag hoisting by our senior teacher Shri Manoj Kumar Sharma accompanied by Principal I/C, Ms. Aditi Basu, followed by inspiring speeches by the Principal, teachers, and students. The celebration also featured beautiful cultural programmes, including a chorus and group dances, making the occasion memorable and vibrant.

🇮🇳 Celebrating the Spirit of Patriotism! 🇮🇳
As part of the 80th Independence Day Celebration, 2026, our school organised a series of exciting and meaningful competitions to nurture patriotism, creativity and awareness among the students.

Drawing Competition
A drawing competition was conducted for the students of Classes III–V on 4 August 2026. The young artists expressed their love for the nation through colourful and imaginative artwork.

Patriotic Group Song Competition
A Patriotic Group Song Competition, open to all students, was held on 5 August 2026. The melodious performances filled the school campus with national pride and patriotic fervour.

Quiz Competition
A quiz competition was organised for the students of Classes IX–XII on 7 August 2026. The event encouraged students to enhance their knowledge of India’s history, freedom struggle and national achievements.
The competitions witnessed enthusiastic participation from the students and created an atmosphere of unity, pride and love for the nation. 🇮🇳

Today, School in collaboration with Fire and Safety Services, Guwahati, successfully conducted an awareness campaign and mock drill on fire and safety within the school premises. The event aimed to educate students and staff about fire prevention, emergency response, and the importance of preparedness in ensuring a safe home and school environment.
Experts from Fire and Safety Services, Guwahati, delivered an interactive session on fire hazards, safety protocols, and the correct use of fire extinguishers and other safety equipment.
Students actively engaged in the drill, reinforcing their understanding of emergency protocols and the importance of remaining calm during crises.

Thanks to the Fire and Safety Services team for their valuable guidance and support in making the school a safer place for everyone and looking forward to more such events.

To commemorate India's Independence Day 2026, Railway Higher Secondary School, Maligaon, organized an Essay Writing Competition and a Painting Competition for students of Classes VIII to XII.

The essay writing competition was conducted on the thought-provoking topic, "Role of AI in Building a Viksit Bharat by 2047," encouraging students to explore how Artificial Intelligence can contribute to India's journey towards becoming a developed nation by the centenary year of Independence.

The painting competition, themed "India: 1947 vs 2047," inspired students to creatively portray India's remarkable transformation since Independence and their vision for a progressive, prosperous, and sustainable India in the future.

Students enthusiastically participated in both competitions, showcasing their creativity, critical thinking, and patriotic spirit through insightful essays and vibrant artworks. The events provided a meaningful platform for young minds to reflect on the nation's achievements, embrace technological advancements, and envision their role in shaping the India of tomorrow.

Today our school proudly celebrated the 12th International Yoga Day, joining millions around the world to promote health, balance, and well‑being.
This year’s official theme, "Yoga for Healthy Ageing," reminded us that yoga supports physical strength, mental clarity, and emotional resilience at every stage of life.
Students and teachers took part in a morning session of age‑appropriate yoga practices including breathing exercises (pranayama), gentle asanas, and guided relaxation.
We thank students and teacher for participating with enthusiasm. Let’s carry today’s calm and healthy habits into our daily lives — small, consistent steps make a big difference.
