Speaking during the Science Communication session at RISE Conclave 2026, Chetan Kumar, Senior Assistant Editor of the Times of India (Space, Science & Defence), emphasized that fostering a scientific temper begins with nurturing the natural curiosity of children. He noted that science communication is not limited to reporting headline discoveries but also involves bringing attention to the significant research and innovation taking place across research institutions such as CSIR laboratories.
Advocating a "One Nation" approach to science, he stressed the need to move beyond silos, strengthen collaboration across the ecosystem, and inspire school students and young minds to engage with science, innovation, and research from an early age.
