Through a series of research talks, members from both the Institutes are exploring areas of mutual interest and potential areas of research collaborations.

BRIC-NIBMG celebrated the 80th Independence Day of India with pride and enthusiasm.

The celebrations began with hoisting of the National Flag, followed by an inspiring address by the Director, BRIC-NIBMG. The programme concluded with a vibrant cultural presentation by our students, adding colour and spirit to the celebrations.

A day to celebrate our nation, honour its journey, and renew our commitment to contributing to its scientific progress.

BRIC-NIBMG was pleased to welcome Dr. Purnima Sharma, Director, BCIL and Dr. Suman Bhattacharya, Manager – Innovation and Partnership for discussions on intellectual property (IP) management and technology licensing.

The interaction focused on strengthening approaches to managing institutional IP and facilitating the translation of research innovations through effective technology licensing.

We are delighted to share that Mr. Shouvik Paul (PI: Dr. Souvik Mukherjee), has won 1st Prize in the Poster Presentation at the 3rd Foundation Day event of the Department of Microbiology, AIIMS Kalyani, held in association with the American Society for Microbiology (ASM) and the Society for Tropical and Emerging Infectious Diseases (STRIDE).

His award-winning poster, titled “Clinical and Genomic Characterization of Multidrug-Resistant, Biofilm-Forming Bacteria in Chronic Diabetic Foot Ulcers: A Cross-Sectional Study associated with Treatment Failure,” highlights important research at the intersection of microbial genomics and complex disease.

We were pleased to host Dr. Triparna Sen, Director, Lung Cancer Preclinical Therapeutics Platform, Division of Medical Oncology, The Ohio State University for an engaging NIBMG Colloquium talk.

Dr. Sen's talk highlighted how fundamental research can provide critical insights into cancer biology, help identify potential therapeutic opportunities and help improve patient outcomes

The visit also provided an opportunity for Dr. Sen to interact with NIBMG faculty and students. We thank Dr. Triparna Sen for an insightful session and for sharing her expertise with the BRIC-NIBMG research community.

BRIC-NIBMG participated on behalf of the Department of Biotechnology, India (DBT) in the 12th Indian National Exhibition held at Patuli, Kolkata.

The BRIC-NIBMG stall welcomed visitors from all walks of life, offering an opportunity to explore our research, achievements and contributions in genomics and biomedical research.

Visitors also enjoyed engaging science games and interactive 3D models, making the experience both informative and fun for learners of all ages.

It was wonderful to see such enthusiastic participation about genomics and its applications in healthcare.
