We are delighted to celebrate the wonderful feature on Julien Day School, Kalyani in The Telegraph – Young Metro, highlighting our vibrant Rabindra Jayanti Celebration and Annual Awards Ceremony.

Proud Moment for Julien Day School, Kalyani!

We are delighted to share that Julien Day School, Kalyani has been prominently featured in The Telegraph – Young Metro for its Investiture Ceremony 2026–27, celebrating the induction of our newly elected student leaders.

The ceremony marked a significant milestone as badges, house colours, and oaths symbolized the passing of leadership to a new generation of responsible, confident, and compassionate students. The newly elected Student Council pledged to uphold the school's values and traditions while leading with integrity, discipline, teamwork, and service.

The event was graced by Mr. Terence John, Director of Education & Development, along with Mr. Garfield D'Souza, Principal, Mr. P. Ravi Kumar Rao, Vice Principal, Mr. Richard Jude Green, Teacher-in-Charge, and Ms. Philomena Rozario, Junior Coordinator. Learning Beyond the Classroom!

The students of Classes IV and V of Julien Day School, Kalyani had an enriching educational visit to the Kalyani Main Post Office on 23rd July 2026, where they explored the fascinating world of postal services and discovered the important role the post office continues to play in connecting people.

During the visit, students learned about various postal services such as Speed Post, Registered Post, Parcel Booking, Money Orders, and savings schemes like RD and PPF. They observed how letters are sorted according to PIN codes, stamped, and prepared for delivery. The visit to the Philately Corner introduced them to the art of stamp collecting and the stories stamps tell about history, culture, and remarkable personalities.

One of the most memorable experiences was when every student wrote and posted a postcard to their parents—many doing so for the very first time! The demonstration of the weighing machine, franking machine, and the mail delivery process further deepened their understanding of the dedication and hard work of postal employees.

The visit concluded with a heartfelt vote of thanks to the Postmaster and the entire staff for their warm hospitality and insightful guidance.

It was truly a meaningful learning experience that reminded our students of the enduring importance of the postal system, even in today's digital world, while instilling values of patience, responsibility, and public service.

Learning Beyond the Classroom!

Julien Day School, Kalyani believes that the best learning happens through real-life experiences. On 20th July, the students of Classes VI and VII had an enriching educational visit to the Fire Department, where they gained invaluable knowledge about fire safety, emergency response, and the remarkable dedication of our firefighters.

The visit began with a warm welcome and an insightful introduction to the history and responsibilities of the Fire Department. Students learned how firefighters courageously respond to emergencies ranging from fires and road accidents to floods and gas leaks.

Highlights of the Visit:

Hands-on fire safety demonstration, including the PASS technique for using fire extinguishers and essential emergency procedures like "Stop, Drop & Roll."
Up-close experience with fire engines, rescue equipment, breathing apparatus, hoses, and ladders.
Guided tour of the fire station, including the control room, living quarters, and training facilities.
An engaging interactive session where students asked thoughtful questions about firefighting, safety measures, and emergency preparedness.

The visit inspired our young learners to appreciate the courage, commitment, and selfless service of our firefighters while reinforcing the importance of safety, responsibility, and community awareness.

Learning came alive beyond the classroom as the students of Class VIII, Julien Day School, Kalyani embarked on an exciting educational excursion to Science City, Kolkata.

From exploring the wonders of the universe at the Space Odyssey to experiencing the fascinating world of physics through interactive exhibits in the Dynamotion Hall, every moment was filled with curiosity and discovery. The journey continued through the Evolution Park, Maritime Centre, and Earth Exploration Hall, offering students valuable insights into science, nature, and the history of our planet.

A captivating screening of "Journey to Mars" at the Space Theatre inspired young minds to dream beyond the stars and ignited a deeper passion for science and technology.
