Morning Devotion
15th October 2025: @3;30am
The Book of Proverbs
Proverbs 15

God cares deeply about the words we use and the posture of our hearts. He delights in the prayer of the upright but is far from the one who clings to wickedness. Again and again, Proverbs 15 reminds us that gentleness, patience, and humility aren’t signs of weakness; they are signs of strength and wisdom.
This chapter also lifts our eyes to a bigger picture. Wealth without love isn’t worth much. Big sacrifices without a sincere heart don’t impress God. Instead, the Lord values peace over performance, prayer over pretense, and humility over pride.
When we live out Proverbs 15, soft words, listening hearts, patient tempers, humble spirits, we become channels of God’s life and blessing to those around us.

Remind ourselves, that we should use soft, gentle words to calm tense situations. Be intentional about seeking knowledge and wisdom rather than gossip or negativity.

Prayer:
“Father in Heaven…Thank You for the wisdom You give through Your Word. Teach me to guard my tongue so that my words soothe, heal, and encourage rather than wound or inflame. Help me to respond with gentleness, especially in moments of tension, and to be patient rather than quick-tempered.

Lord, give me a heart that values prayer over performance and peace over pride. Remind me that it’s better to have little with Your presence and love than to have riches with strife. Keep me humble so I can receive correction, grow in wisdom, and stay close to You.
Guide my steps so that my plans succeed because they’re grounded in Your counsel and surrounded by wise input. Fill me with Your Spirit so my life reflects kindness, humility, and the fear of the Lord.
In Jesus’ name, Amen.”

Galatians 6:9 tells us, “Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.” Too many of us give up too soon and then starts to ask God, “Why God? Why aren’t you taking care of me?”
When God opens a door, He expects you to go all the way in, no matter how long the passage or how winding it can be, complete the journey, not half way but all the way until you see the finishing line ( goal achieved)

Worry, who doesn’t? All of us have experienced anxiety one time or another. Anxiety is about an anticipation of an event. Your brain starts asking “what if” too many times, and comes up with a lot of answers it doesn’t fit!
Stop right there! Nothing has happened, you can certainly use your mind to think about more positive inputs like praying instead of that negative output! This is exactly what the book of Philippians 4:6-7 tells us; “Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.” So, stop worrying and start praying!

Nice text, very beautiful, very true .... !

Hardly the day started and ... it is already six o'clock in the evening.
Barely arrived on Monday and it's already Friday... and the month is already over... and the year is almost up... and already 40, 50 or 60 years of our lives have passed... and we realize that we lost our parents, friends.
and we realize that it is too late to go back ...
So ... Let's try, however, to take full advantage of the time we have left ...
Let's not stop looking for activities that we like ...
Let's put color in our greyness ...
Let's smile at the little things in life that put balm in our hearts.
And yet, we must continue to enjoy serenely the time that remains. Let's try to eliminate the "after" ...
I do it after ...
I will say after ...
I will think about it after ...
We leave everything for 'later' as if "after" was ours.
Because what we do not understand is that:
after, the coffee cools ...
after, priorities change ...
after, the charm is broken ...
after, health passes ...
after, the children grow up ...
after, the parents get older ...
after, the promises are forgotten ...
after, the day becomes the night ...
after, life ends ...
And after that it's often too late ....
So ... leave nothing for 'later' ...
Because always waiting for later, we can lose the best moments,
the best experiences,
the best friends,
the best family ...
The day is today ... The moment is now ...

We are no longer at the age where we can afford to postpone until tomorrow what needs to be done right away.
So let's see if you'll have time to read this message and then share it.
Or maybe you'll leave it for ... "later" ...
And you will not share it "ever" ....

Even share with those who are not yet "seniors".

Three blondes were all applying for the last available position on the Perth Highway Patrol. The detective conducting
the interview looked at the three of them and said, "So y'all want to be cops, huh?"
The blondes all nodded.
The detective got up, opened a file drawer, and pulled out a folder. Sitting back down, he opened it, pulled out a picture, and said, "To be a detective, you have to be able to detect.

You must be able to notice things such as distinguishing features and oddities like scars and so forth."

So he stuck the photo in the face of the first blonde and withdrew it after about two seconds. "Now," he said, "did you notice any distinguishing features about this man?"

The blonde immediately said, "Yes, I did. He has only one eye!"

The detective shook his head and said, "Of course he has only one eye in this picture! It's a side profile of his face! You're dismissed!"

The first blonde hung her head and walked out of the office.

The detective then turned to the second blonde, stuck the photo in her face for two seconds, pulled it back, and said, "What about you? Notice anything unusual or outstanding about this man?"

"Yes! He only has one ear!"

The detective put his head in his hands and exclaimed, "Didn't you hear what I just told the other lady?

This is side picture profile of the man's face! Of course you can only see one ear! You're excused too!"

The second blonde sheepishly walked out of the office.

The detective turned his attention to the third and last blonde and said, "This is probably a waste of time, but...."

He flashed the photo in her face for a couple of seconds and withdrew it, saying, "All right, did you notice anything distinguishing or unusual features about this man?"

The blonde said, "I sure did. This man wears contact lenses."

The detective frowned, took another look at the picture, and began looking at some of the papers in the folder.

He looked up at the blonde with a puzzled expression and said, "You're absolutely right! His bio says he wears contacts! How in the world could you tell that by looking at his picture?"

The blonde rolled her eyes and said, "Well, Hellooooooooooooo! With only one eye and one ear, he certainly can't wear glasses."
