Sri rama high school, kalladka Quality education under sri k.prabhakar bhat A township of petty traders, agricultural labourers and beedi-rollers had only one Govt. Primary school until 1980.

Kalladka - about 30 KM to the east of Mangalore, spread on either side of the Mangalore - Bangalore highway ( N.H. 48 ), is a small village of 6000 people named Kalladka. The nearest High school was 6 KM away and most villagers could not afford it anyway. By 1980 the sustained efforts of a small group of social activists gave birth to Sri Rama High School, Kalladka. A plot of 10 acres of land was

acquired, and by and by other infrastructure were developed. The Primary section was started in 1988. Today it has about 850 students on its rolls, 23 teachers and 4 supporting staff. However, it is still a long way to realize the dream of complete and holistic education.
