The School of Management Studies (SMS), Cochin University of Science and Technology (CUSAT) inaugurated its MBA Induction Programme 2026 on 20 July 2026 at the SMS Auditorium, welcoming the incoming MBA batch with an inspiring inaugural session.

The programme was inaugurated by Prof. (Dr.) M. Junaid Bushiri, Vice Chancellor, CUSAT, who addressed the newly admitted students and encouraged them to pursue academic excellence, innovation, and ethical leadership. The inaugural function was presided over by Prof. (Dr.) Sam Thomas, Director, School of Management Studies, while the welcome address was delivered by Dr. Manu Melwin Joy, Assistant Professor and Induction Programme Coordinator.

The event featured a keynote address by Mr. Bijimon K. R., Executive Director & Chief Operating Officer, Muthoot Finance Limited, who shared valuable insights on industry expectations, leadership, and career readiness. The Vice Chancellor also honoured Prof. (Dr.) D. Mavoothu in recognition of his distinguished contributions to management education.

Delivering the special address, Prof. (Dr.) D. Mavoothu, Vice Chancellor of Mahatma Gandhi University and Dean, Faculty of Social Sciences, CUSAT, inspired the students with his thoughts on lifelong learning, values, and professional excellence. The programme concluded with a vote of thanks proposed by Dr. Nimitha Aboobaker, Assistant Professor and Admission Coordinator.
