NSS Day Celebrated with Fervour at Satya Ranjan College :
Today, NSS Day was celebrated at Satya Ranjan College with utmost dedication, zeal and enthusiasm.
The programme commenced with the ceremonial inauguration and hoisting of the NSS flag by the Principal of the college, Hon'ble Dr. Bishwajit Bhattacharjee . In his inaugural address, he extended heartfelt greetings to all NSS volunteers and underlined that NSS is not merely a cell, but a platform that instills the spirit of 'Not Me, But You'.
He emphasized that true education is incomplete without service to the nation, and that NSS teaches students dedication, discipline and a profound sense of national duty.
The NSS Programme Officer, Shri Probir Bharatiya , in his elaborate speech, highlighted the glorious journey of NSS since its inception and its vital role in nation-building. He stated that a volunteer dedicating his time and energy for the upliftment of society is the highest form of patriotism.
Dr. Imdadur Rahman , faculty member, also spoke on the occasion and explained how NSS connects the youth with grassroots problems of the country and prepares them to become responsible citizens.
Marking the spirit of dedication, a plantation drive was undertaken within the college campus to promote a green and clean environment — a duty towards Mother Earth and future generations. Also, as a part of "Seva Sankalpa Abhiyan", an extempore speech and quiz competition among the students was organized in the college.
As a gesture of social commitment, sarees and fruits were distributed among underprivileged women and needy people living in the vicinity of the college, reinforcing the message that serving the poor is serving the nation.
The programme concluded on a successful note, reaffirming the pledge of the volunteers to serve the college, society and the nation with unwavering dedication.
