Learning to write a sentence correctly doesn’t have to be complicated! 🌟

We make it simple with our 5-Star Sentence Rules:

⭐ Start with a capital letter.
⭐ End with punctuation.
⭐ Leave a gap between words.
⭐ Write neatly.
⭐ Check for correct spelling.

Using flashcards, children can visualise each rule and understand how to apply it while writing. This makes learning more meaningful, interactive, and easy to remember. 💛

Because when little learners know the rules, they can write with confidence! ✨

When learning becomes a game, children remember it for life! ✨

Today, our little learners explored one of the most important spelling rules in Jolly Phonics—when to use C and when to use K at the beginning of a word.

🔤 C comes before A, O, U and consonants.
🔤 K comes before I, E, Y.

Instead of simply memorising the rule, we turned it into a fun board game where children had to think, reason, and choose the correct letter before writing the word.

This activity encouraged them to:
🌟 Apply the rule independently.
🌟 Develop logical thinking and reasoning skills.
🌟 Build confidence in spelling.
🌟 Enjoy learning through active participation.

Children absolutely love writing on the board, and when learning is hands-on, every rule becomes easier to understand and remember.

Learning a spelling rule is easy. Knowing when to apply it is the real learning! 💛

Our little learners used reasoning, observation, and lots of excitement to decide whether a word should begin with C or K. Watching them think before they write is exactly what makes phonics meaningful! ✨

Every game is a step towards becoming confident readers and independent writers.

Many children can hear the sound correctly but still wonder… 🤔

“Is it /i/ or /e/? Which letter should I write?”

This is a very common confusion in the early stages of phonics. That’s why we don’t just teach letter names, we train little ears to listen carefully to each sound before choosing the correct letter.

Through fun listening and segmenting activities, children gradually build the confidence to hear, identify, and write the right sounds independently. 💛

Strong spelling begins with strong listening. One sound at a time!

My learners are recalling the sounds through Jolly Phonics actions, blending them in their minds, and reading the words confidently. That’s the power of strong sound knowledge, reading without relying on visual prompts.

Reading starts with sounds, and confident readers are built one blend at a time. ❤️

Children remember best when learning has a rhythm. 💛

Instead of simply memorising the sounds of Y, we learned them through a fun rhyme! 🎶

From yes to gym, baby to cry, the children discovered that the letter Y can make four different sounds. The rhyme helped them hear, remember, and recall each sound with ease.

At Little Explorers, I believe phonics should be something children experience, not just learn. A simple rhyme can turn a tricky concept into something they’ll happily remember long after the lesson is over. ❤️

Who says phonics has to happen only on paper? 💛

Today, our little explorers became active listeners as they played the Toughy Y Game! When Y made the /ē/ sound (as in baby), they moved one way. When Y made the /ī/ sound (as in cry), they moved the other way.

This simple movement game strengthens:
✨ Auditory listening skills
✨ Phonemic awareness
✨ Sound discrimination
✨ Confidence in reading

Because the best learning happens when children can listen, think, move, and smile. ❤️

To every young person who stood with courage, compassion, and conviction, thank you.

You reminded us that change begins when people care enough to speak up. Your determination, resilience, and unity inspired millions and gave hope to those who had forgotten that every voice matters.

Now, it’s time to go home.

Rest your mind.
Hug your family.
Laugh with your friends.
Take care of yourselves, because those who love you have carried this journey with you too.

This may be the end of one chapter, but never let it be the end of your curiosity, your kindness, or your courage.

Keep learning.
Keep questioning.
Keep believing in a better tomorrow.

The future needs hearts like yours.

With love and respect, thank you, Gen Z. ❤️

Some days, our classroom is a little louder than usual… and I absolutely love those days. 💛

Today, my Little Explorers learned Collective Nouns through a drawing and guessing game. There was laughter, excitement, children eagerly sharing their ideas, and yes… a little bit of chaos too!

But to me, that’s the sound of children learning with joy. When they are smiling, moving, thinking, and talking, they are building memories that last far beyond a worksheet.
