The festival of lights is indeed a beautiful time to celebrate with your loved ones. The glittering lights, diyas and lanterns fill the sky as this festival is celebrated all over the country and even in some parts of the world as well. Also known as Deepawali, this festival is a very auspicious occasion that is celebrated with much fervour, cheer and joy. Diwali symbolises positive and happy spirits. People dress up in beautiful, traditional attires and look their absolute best while donning accessories or jewellery. People cook delicious meals and sweets that make Diwali even more delightful. The fresh aroma of sweets are mouthwatering and people exchange gifts with each other on this occasion.

May the supreme light illumine your minds, enlighten your hearts and strengthen the human bonds in your homes and communities.

Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, also referred to as the ‘Iron Man of India’, is one of the founding fathers of ‘Republic India’. He, along with the father of the nation, Mahatma Gandhi, led the Satyagraha movement. Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel also led many marches against the British and played a key role in the freedom struggle of India. He was truly a great social leader and his work was characterized by excellence. He has made an evident spot in the history of our nation and also in our hearts for the rest of eternity.

Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel's birth anniversary is observed as National Unity Day or Rashtriya Ekta Diwas on October 31 every year. The dynamic freedom fighter served as the First Deputy Prime Minister and Home Minister of the country.
