IGNOU Regional Centre Jorhat Regional Centre Jorhat started from in March 2013. Regional Centre Jorhat started functioning from CKB Commerce College Campus, Jorhat, Assam in March 2013.

The Centre has 13 (Thirteen) districts in the Upper Assam area Nagaon, Golaghat, Jorhat, Sivasagar, Dibrugarh, Tinsukia, Lakhimpur, Dhemaji, Sonitpur, Majuli, Charaidew, Biswanath & Hojai. The Centre has 9 (Nine) districts in the Upper Assam Division under its jurisdiction namely Nagaon, Golaghat, Jorhat, Sivasagar, Dibrugarh, Tinsukia, Lakhimpur, Dhemaji & Sonitpur.

Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) has launched 9 One-Year Master's degree programmes for graduates of the Four-Year Undergraduate Programme (FYUP), providing an accelerated postgraduate pathway aligned with the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020.
IGNOU has introduced One-Year Master’s Degree Programmes in accordance with the applicable UGC notification, providing an opportunity for the graduates of Four-Year Bachelor’s Degree programmes to pursue a Master’s degree in One Year.
The School of Social Sciences has introduced one-year 𝐌.𝐀. 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐠𝐫𝐚𝐦𝐦𝐞𝐬 𝐢𝐧 𝐄𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐨𝐦𝐢𝐜𝐬, 𝐒𝐨𝐜𝐢𝐨𝐥𝐨𝐠𝐲 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐇𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐨𝐫𝐲 for students completing the Honours with Research track under FYUP. 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐠𝐫𝐚𝐦𝐦𝐞 𝐢𝐧 𝐉𝐨𝐮𝐫𝐧𝐚𝐥𝐢𝐬𝐦 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐌𝐚𝐬𝐬 𝐂𝐨𝐦𝐦𝐮𝐧𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 under FYUP.
