Bosco Institute, Jorhat, in collaboration with our partners and volunteers, supported relief efforts across flood-affected communities in Assam.

From 1–6 August in Titabor, Jorhat, 450 families across 7 Gaon Panchayats received emergency relief kits supported by Don Bosco Tech Society, in collaboration with 25 volunteers from DB Tech Rangajan, Thoughts to Action, Dr. Nobin Bordoloi College and Tezpur University.

In Sivasagar and Charaideo, 568 families and beneficiaries across 7 villages received essential relief materials, including cleaning equipment, tarpaulins and wash kits, with support from Street Providence, Goa.

Through the Roots to Branches Foundation, implemented through Thoughts to Action, Bosco Institute also supported 11 distribution rounds across 10 villages, helping deliver 400 relief kits to households and reaching 1,578 people.

These efforts remind us that meaningful change is possible when communities, organisations and individuals come together with compassion and purpose.

Understanding the challenges young people face is the first step towards creating meaningful change.

With this vision, Lingc Miripong Cie (Space for Igniting Youth), under the Youth Resource Centre (YRC) and supported by Bosco Institute, Jorhat, conducted a baseline survey to explore the realities of career conflicts and school dropout among adolescents and youth.

Led by interns from SD Jain Girls' College, Eastern Christian College, and St. Anthony's College, Shillong, the survey engaged 500 adolescents and youth across 10 villages in Dimapur district, focusing on vulnerable communities.

The insights gathered will serve as a foundation for designing informed interventions that empower young people to make confident educational and career choices, while strengthening efforts to reduce school dropout.
