A research lab focusing on machine learning, computer vision, pattern recognition, and biometrics.

Image Analysis and Biometrics lab at IIIT-Delhi was established in 2009 as a premier research lab to carry out world-class research in the areas of biometrics, image analysis, pattern recognition and allied areas. Some of the research problems the lab investigates include face recognition, iris recognition and fingerprint recognition. Over the years, our work has diversified and ventured into core

We had a super busy day at ICCV 2019, Seoul, South Korea, while organising the Disguised Faces in the Wild (DFW) workshop (http://iab-rubric.org/DFW/). The day started with an overview of the DFW competition, followed by some paper presentations which continued through the day!

DFW workshop had four amazing keynotes spread over the day by Dr. Ming-Yu Liu (Nvidia), Dr. Lars Ericson (IARPA), Dr. Manohar Paluri (Facebook), and Dr. Stefanos Zafeiriou (Imperial College, London).

The participants also engaged in active discussions with a panel discussion with panelists from several fields: Dr. Manohar Palluri, Dr.Ming-Yu Liu, Dr. Lars Ericson, and Dr. Stefanos Zafeirou, moderated by Dr. Rama Chellappa.

Paper accepted in the senior member track, AAAI Conference on Artificial Intelligence (AAAI2020), to be held in New York, USA!

"Unravelling Robustness of Face Recognition Algorithms", Richa Singh, Akshay Agarwal, Maneet Singh, Shruti Nagpal, Mayank Vatsa.

In this research, we talked about different ways in which the robustness of a face recognition algorithm is challenged (such as adversarial attacks, plastic surgery, disguises, and bias) and what can be done to address them.

Shruti Nagpal received the Google Student Travel Scholarship to attend the Grace Hopper Celebration (GHC), 2019 (https://ghc.anitab.org/), held at Orlando, Florida!

GHC is the world's largest gathering of women technologists (over 25,000 attendees this year!). Spanning across four days, GHC included various sessions ranging from inspiring keynotes, networking mixers, and career fair.

Congratulations Shruti! :D

Akshay Agarwal, PhD scholar at the IAB lab, recently attended the 2019 Heidelberg Laureate Forum (HLF). The 7th HLF took place from September 22–27, 2019, and had the most robust scientific program to date, including three panels that addressed fundamental issues for science and humanity at large. 23 laureates of mathematics and computer science spent the week interacting with 200 of the most dynamic young researchers in the fields. Through a blend of scientific and social elements, paired with ample time, the participants had the opportunity to shed formalities and extensively discuss.

Akshay received travel support via the Heidelberg Laureate Forum (HLF) and was also the recipient of the SAP Grant at the HLF. SAP SE is an academic partner of the Heidelberg Laureate Forum Foundation and provides twenty Young Researcher grants.

Congratulations Akshay! :D
