Mahatma Gandhi, by name of Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi, was born on October 2, 1869.He was a lawyer, politician, social activist, and writer who became the leader of the nationalist movement against the British rule on India. Mahatma Gandhiwho was given the title of “Father of the Nation” or “Rashtrapita”, is also called by the name of “Bapu”. Globally, Mahatma Gandhi’s Birthday is celebrated as the International Day of non-Violence.
