Vivekanand Royal Children Academy Commemorates Gandhi Jayanti in Grand Style

2nd October 2023

Today, on the occasion of Gandhi Jayanti, students of Vivekanand Royal Children Academy came together in a remarkable celebration, paying tribute to the Father of the Nation, Mahatma Gandhi. The event was marked by various activities that vividly showcased the life and principles of the great leader.

One of the highlights of the celebration was the recreation of Sabarmati Ashram, a place that played a pivotal role in Gandhi's journey for India's independence. Students meticulously crafted a miniature version of the Ashram, complete with spinning wheels, khadi clothes, and an atmosphere reminiscent of the times when Mahatma Gandhi resided there.

In a heartwarming display of devotion, students not only remembered the iconic leader but also immersed themselves in the role by enacting as Mahatma Gandhi and Ashram residents. They shared stories of how people used to engage in shram (work) in the Ashram, emphasizing the importance of simplicity and self-sufficiency, ideals deeply cherished by Gandhi.

The event didn't stop at celebrating just Mahatma Gandhi. Students also remembered another great leader, Lal Bahadur Shastri. They dedicated a special photo gallery and explained Shastri's invaluable contributions to the nation, particularly during his tenure as India's second Prime Minister.

As the world faces ongoing challenges related to cleanliness and hygiene, the students of Vivekanand Royal Children Academy also dedicated a segment of their celebration to the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan (Clean India Campaign). They presented a special program highlighting the importance of cleanliness, sanitation, and the role each citizen can play in making India a cleaner and healthier nation.

The entire event was a testament to the academy's commitment to nurturing well-rounded individuals who not only excel academically but also appreciate the values and sacrifices of India's iconic leaders. It served as a reminder that the teachings of Mahatma Gandhi and Lal Bahadur Shastri continue to inspire generations, fostering a spirit of unity, simplicity, and dedication to the nation.

Gandhi Jayanti at Vivekanand Royal Children Academy was not just a celebration but a meaningful educational experience that instilled the values of truth, non-violence, and service in the hearts of the young participants, ensuring that the legacy of these great leaders lives on.
