The news is that Mumbai-Karmali Tejas Express, which was launched by IR with state-of-art facilities and beautiful interiors, has been totally vandalized by none other than passengers.
1. A number of LED screens provided for watching movies were stolen.
2. Headphones were stolen.
3. Bio-vacuum toilets were jammed with many things thrown.
4. Toilet seat was soiled.
5. Train was so dirty that the authorities were appalled.
6. There were damages to vending units.
PS - All this happened on the FIRST day of train's run.
Somehow it is a pity that we Indians only demand facilities, and abuse government day and night that we are not provided facilities in trains, public buses, or at any public place. Which government will be serious to provide excellent facilities when we (as a public) are thieves and vandals ? To see a train like Tejas damaged to such an extent on its first run shows the mentality of Indian public at large, and raises the question if we really deserve anything extraordinary ??? And to think this behaviour is from the upper middle class strata of our society as the fares are quite high.
Indians are getting monetarily rich, but the civic sense even among the rich is pathetic and is at gutter level. This is a defeat of education. 😒
