HH Shri Radhanath Swami Ji attended Piramal Foundation's annual conclave as the chief guest of honour at with Mr. Ajay Piramal, chairman of Piramal Group, and team Piramal Sarvajal on 9th Dec'17.

In 2007, when Aditya Natraj started the Principal Leadership Programme to focus on school leadership as a way to improve learning outcomes for children, it was not on the government’s radar. In fact, they were puzzled as to why anyone would focus on training headmasters instead of just working with the children and their teachers.

Piramal Foundation for Education Leadership (PFEL) managed to convince the government to give them 10 schools to start with. We kept focusing on interim evidence such as reduced drop-out rates, higher enrolment in government schools versus private schools, and improvement in learning outcomes, to convince the government to give us more schools in more districts.

Five years later PFEL invested in a randomised control trial—the most rigorous methodology of generating evidence—to demonstrate the impact of this approach on learning outcomes of children.

Working smartly with the government: a funder's perspective - India Development Review (IDR) Since private sector funders have only a minuscule proportion of the funds and reach that governments have, they must focus on co-creating solutions that leverage the latter’s infrastructure and last mile connect.

The inaugural day of the Summit on January 20, 2017 was designed, developed and executed by Gandhi Fellowship Program(GFP). It featured a keynote speech by Mr. Vivek Sharma, Program Director at GFP on emphasising on the need of being entrepreneurial as against being solely an entrepreneur. This was followed by a short panel discussion moderated by Mr. Sharma featuring GFP Alumni, Mr. Vaibhav Pandey (currently Program Manager PFEL) and Mr. Abhyudai Dhawan (currently Communications Specialist at UNDP). They brought to the fore their own entrepreneurial expertise and helped project a trajectory to impact a million lives as a nation builder.

The Summit saw a footfall of almost 10,000 guests while DAY 1 had a participation of about 250 people attending the GFP event.
