From Devotion to Nature: Eco-Friendly Ganesha at The Millennium Foundation School Jhabua
Traditional Visarjan often leads to severe water pollution, harming fragile underwater life (SDG 14). Our students took a little step to protect the environment by handcrafting Seed Ganesha Idols right here in school!
Each student has brought home their eco-friendly Ganesha to celebrate the festival. On the day of Visarjan, instead of using natural water bodies, families will immerse the idol in a soil planter at home.
As the clay dissolves, the embedded seed will begin to sprout, turning Lord Ganesha’s blessings into a living, breathing plant!
This initiative:
Protects marine and freshwater ecosystems (SDG 14: Life Below Water)
Promotes green cover and soil health (SDG 15: Life on Land)
Makes science interactive by letting students observe real-time seed germination!
We are proud of our young changemakers for showing us that sustainability and culture can blossom together.
