Christmas, the festival symbolising love, peace and brotherhood, celebrated with great joy and enthusiasm at Dev public School, Mangrauli(Jewar). The celebration reflected the timeless values inspired by the life of Lord Jesus Christ, including compassion, sacrifice, forgiveness and mutual harmony.

The programme began on a delightful note with a vibrant Christmas dance by pre-primary students. Dressed in colourful costumes and Santa caps, the tiny performers won hearts with their innocent charm, drawing loud applause from the audience.

This was followed by house-wise Christmas carol presentations by primary and senior students. Students from different houses sang melodious carols, spreading the joy of the birth of Lord Jesus and creating a deeply devotional atmosphere. students further enriched the programme through plays that beautifully depicted the life, teachings and love of Lord Jesus for humanity.

Students also delivered Christmas speeches in Hindi and English. The Hindi speech highlighted the social and moral significance of Christmas, while the English speech conveyed the message of love, peace and forgiveness in simple and meaningful words.

Addressing the gathering, school principal Nisha sharma emphasized the true spirit of Christmas and encouraged students to walk on the path of love, service and humanity in their lives. On behalf of the school management, Christmas greetings to all and wished the students a bright future. Highlighted that every festival holds a unique importance and should be celebrated with mutual respect, harmony and goodwill.

Today, we bow in solemn remembrance of Guru Tegh Bahadur ji, the Ninth Guru of Sikhism, whose supreme martyrdom on 24 November 1675 stands as one of the greatest sacrifices in human history.

He gave his life to uphold freedom of faith and protect the oppressed, embodying unmatched courage, compassion and spiritual strength. His sacrifice reminds us that true leadership is defined by moral conviction and the willingness to stand for justice, no matter the cost.
