🌿 Types of Transpiration 🌿
Transpiration is the process by which plants lose water vapour from their aerial parts like leaves and stems. It helps in cooling the plant, transporting water, and maintaining the flow of minerals.
1️⃣ Stomatal Transpiration
This is the most common type of transpiration.
Water vapour escapes through tiny pores called stomata present mainly on the underside of leaves. Guard cells control the opening and closing of stomata.
💡 Around 80–90% of transpiration occurs through stomata.

2️⃣ Cuticular Transpiration
In this type, water vapour is lost through the cuticle, a thin waxy layer present on the leaf surface.
🌱 It occurs continuously but is much less than stomatal transpiration because the cuticle is waterproof.

3️⃣ Lenticular Transpiration
This type occurs through lenticels, which are small openings present on woody stems and bark.
🌳 Lenticels help in gaseous exchange and allow a small amount of water vapour to escape.
