You have a 3-digit number. When you reverse the digits of this number and subtract the smaller number from the larger number, you get a result. Reverse the digits of the result and add it to the original result. The final answer is always 1089.

But is it true for any 3-digit number? Let’s put this to the test with the following steps:

Choose any 3-digit number where the hundreds and units digits are different (e.g., 532).

Reverse the digits to form a new number (e.g., 532 becomes 235).

Subtract the smaller number from the larger number (e.g., 532 - 235 = 297).

Reverse the digits of the result (e.g., 297 becomes 792).

Add the reversed result to the original result (e.g., 297 + 792).
