Guru Nanak Jayanti: Celebrating the Life and Teachings of Sikhism's Founding Saint

Guru Nanak Dev Ji, born in 1469 in Talwandi (now Nankana Sahib in Pakistan), was a spiritual leader, poet, and visionary who laid the foundation of Sikhism. He dedicated his life to spreading a message of compassion, unity, equality, and devotion to the one Creator. Guru Nanak's teachings broke down barriers, challenging systems of social inequality and advocating for universal brotherhood and service to humanity.

Guru Nanak Jayanti is more than a celebration of his birth; it is an opportunity to reflect on his timeless values. His teachings inspire us to serve without discrimination, uphold truth and humility, and respect the shared divinity in all beings, regardless of caste, creed, or social status.

As we commemorate the birth of Guru Nanak Dev Ji, Alumni Relations Team takes this occasion to honor his profound message of unity, selfless service, and peace. Wishing Everyone a Joyful and Harmonious Chhath Puja!

As we come together to celebrate Chhath Puja, a festival that honors the Sun God and his consort, Usha, we celebrate a profound journey of faith and gratitude, paying tribute to the life-giving light of the sun. This vibrant four-day festival unites communities across Bihar, Jharkhand, Uttar Pradesh, and Nepal, expressing our heartfelt gratitude for life, vitality, and sustenance.

The journey begins with Nahay Khay, a day of purification and ritual cleansing, symbolizing a fresh connection with nature. Next, on Kharna, devotees observe a full-day fast, breaking it only after sunset in a display of reverence. On the third day, Sandhya Arghya, an evening prayer is offered to the setting sun, as worshippers gather by riversides to honor the Sun God. The festival concludes with Usha Arghya on the fourth morning, welcoming the rising sun and ending the worship with unwavering faith.

May this Chhath Puja fill our lives with light, prosperity, and a renewed commitment to honoring both tradition and the beauty of our natural world.

Get Ready for a Journey of Knowledge and Excitement as we pave the way for One of India's Biggest Quiz event. We'll delve into a wide array of topics with thought-provoking questions.

1) Everyday at 7:00 PM, we'll be posting a question.

2) You need to answer it in the comment section of the post and the fastest one gets 10 points.

3) Exciting prizes for the quizzer with highest points till the end of the month.

We'll post the first question tomorrow (Sunday) at 7 PM, and the first person to answer earn points!
