XLRI Jamshedpur celebrated the 80th Independence Day of India with a flag hoisting ceremony, patriotic performances, and reflections on the values that continue to shape the nation. The event brought together students, faculty, staff, and members of the XLRI community in a shared celebration of freedom, unity, and progress.
A key highlight of the celebration was a reflection by Prof. Arup Varma, Visiting Faculty, Quinlan School of Business, Loyola University Chicago, who shared insights on responsibility, leadership, and the role of individuals in contributing to society. The occasion also featured the felicitation of students on the Dean’s Merit List, along with the recognition of winners of the Together We Stand Essay & Poster Competition and the International Business Ethics Case Competition.
As the nation marks eight decades of independence, the celebration reaffirmed XLRI’s commitment to nurturing responsible leaders guided by integrity, service, and purpose.

XLRI Jamshedpur celebrated National Librarians’ Day 2026 at the Sir Jehangir Ghandy Library, commemorating the 134th birth anniversary of Dr. S. R. Ranganathan, the Father of Library Science in India. The occasion brought together faculty, staff, researchers, students, and members of the Library team to honour the enduring role of libraries in advancing knowledge and learning.
A key highlight of the celebration was the launch of several new digital initiatives, including the Retrospective Digitisation of Doctoral Theses, XL-LibRemote, the Library’s in-house off-site access portal, and Nova 3.0, the AI-powered XL-LibBot integrated with the Summon Discovery Service. These initiatives further strengthen access to knowledge and enhance the learning and research experience for the XLRI community.
The event also recognised outstanding achievements across library engagement, learning, and innovation, while acknowledging the contributions of the Library team in supporting XLRI’s academic and research ecosystem.
The celebration reaffirmed XLRI’s commitment to fostering a future-ready learning environment where technology, research, and knowledge come together to support academic excellence and lifelong learning.

XLRI Jamshedpur hosted FULCRUM 6.0 on 25 July 2026, a conclave themed “Navigating Disruptions, Resilience, and Strategic Transformation in the Consulting Industry.”
Organized by XLRI PGDM (GM), the conclave brought together leading consulting professionals, industry experts, academic leaders and students for three thought-provoking discussions on human judgement in an age of information overload, Generative AI as a disruptor, and protecting consulting value in an increasingly commoditized market.
With perspectives from leaders across EY, Accenture, IBM Consulting, PwC, Deloitte, KPMG, ZS, Alvarez & Marsal, Infosys Consulting, Genpact, CGI and other leading organizations, FULCRUM 6.0 explored the intersection of technology, human expertise, innovation and business transformation.
The event reaffirmed XLRI’s commitment to creating platforms that foster industry-academia dialogue, actionable insights and future-focused leadership.

XLRI Jamshedpur is committed to creating meaningful impact beyond the classroom.
The Fr. McGrath Skill Development Centre celebrated the successful completion of Batch 6 (2026) with a Certification Ceremony held on June 20, 2026, at the XLRI Campus, Jamshedpur.
The ceremony marked the culmination of a five-month training programme conducted at Xavier Community College, Phulbani, from January 07 to June 18, 2026, empowering 42 beneficiaries with practical, industry-relevant skills.
The batch comprised:
1) Computer Skills & Data Entry - 33 participants
2) Garment & Fashion Designing - 5 participants
3) Internship in Plumbing & Electrical Wiring - 4 participants
More than a certification, the occasion celebrated the dedication, growth and aspirations of the learners as they take steps towards greater employability, self-reliance and dignified livelihoods.
Through initiatives like these, XLRI continues to live its ethos of “For the Greater Good” by creating opportunities that enable meaningful social transformation.

XLRI Jamshedpur has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Axeno, a leading marketing and digital transformation consulting firm, to strengthen industry-academia collaboration in the areas of marketing, artificial intelligence (AI), consulting, and digital transformation.
The MoU was signed on 25 July 2026 at the XLRI Jamshedpur campus. The signing ceremony was graced by Fr. S. George, S.J.- Director, XLRI Jamshedpur, and Mr. Ankur Mittal- Chief Executive Officer, Axeno, in the presence of Prof. Sunil Sarangi, Co-Convener- Corporate Relations & Placements, and was coordinated by Mr. Rajni Ranjan, Vice President- Corporate Relations & Placements.
The collaboration will encompass leadership interactions, guest lectures, live consulting projects, joint research, case study development, executive education, and initiatives focused on AI, consulting, marketing, and digital transformation. It will provide students and faculty with opportunities to engage with contemporary business challenges while fostering innovation and knowledge exchange.
This partnership reinforces XLRI’s vision of integrating academic excellence with industry relevance to prepare responsible, future-ready leaders equipped to thrive in an increasingly technology-driven global business environment.
