Have you ever built a Diwali Ghar ?

On the eve of Diwali, children built small mud houses known as 'Diwali Ghar'. These houses are painted, decorated with colours
and lighted. Idols of Goddess Lakshmi and Lord Ganesh are kept inside the 'Diwali Ghar'. 'Rangolies' are created in front of the house and Puja is performed on the day of Diwali. Friends and relatives are invited and offered gifts.

We used to as a child. Actually, my grandfather used to build it for me at our home in Jamshedpur. We used to decorate and light it up with diyas and candles (not electric lights those days of 70s-80s)
This tradition is gradually fading away. Now everyone owns a 'Ghar' maybe. I wish if time and energy permitted I would have built a Diwali Ghar for my daughter Tupur this Diwali. May be in 2017.
Amen.

Happy , Safe & Prosperous Diwali 2016 to All.
