On 5th of July, 2023 an expert talk has been organized by the Department of Metallurgical and Materials Engineering. In this program the chief guest was Ms. Archana Kumari Thakur, Deputy General manager, IDBI bank, motivational speaker & yoga expert. In the beginning of program Director NIT Jamshedpur, Dr. Gautam Sutradhar lightened up the lamp along with saraswati vandana he welcomes the chief guest by giving momento and shawl to her.
In this program she discusses with the students about Exam fever, set back,micro-practices , handling relationship, Emotional Breakdown, procastination, addiction, mobile screen time management, time management, yoga, pranayama and meditation etc, and then given her solution of these problems to the students .
In the end of program Prof. Binod Kumar Singh gives the vote of thanks to everyone.

Society for Metallurgical Engineering Students is thrilled to announce that we are going to organize a seminar on the topic “Mindfulness and Stress Management”. We are glad to announce that we are having Miss Archana Kumari Thakur who is the Deputy General Manager, IDBI Bank. This session will address the importance of time management, stress management along with yoga in our lives.

Materials engineering is a rapidly evolving field that is critical for the development of new technologies, products and infrastructure. With the advancement of technology, the demand for new and advanced materials is ever-increasing and materials engineers are constantly innovating to meet these demands.

We are excited to invite all the Metallurgical and materials engineering students of NIT JAMSHEDPUR to attend the seminar organised by SMES, conducted by Dr Sandeep Ghosh Chaudhary on April 5th from 11AM in DJLHC 112

Dr Sandeep Ghosh Chaudhary is Chief Scientist and Head in Materials engineering division at CSIR NML Jamshedpur. He will be sharing valuable insights on the topic Materials engineering for Future.

TECHNICA'23 -3.

The concluding day of Technica witnessed jam-packed with unique and exciting events that mesmerized one and all. As promised, TECHNICA delivered on all grounds and from all fronts as it left an everlasting impression on everyone involved. With Metalmorph being the first event it tested the knowledge of metallography. Metarathon was an engaging mock placement drive that provided the students an opportunity to gain experience at mock interviews. IPS was organized to ignite the spark of problem-solving and increase interaction between metallurgy and the future metallurgist. The last event was a metal quiz which gave students the chance to showcase their core knowledge of metallurgy by answering metallurgy related questions. With all the events finally concluding, the deserving winners received their tally of glory and honor in the prize distribution ceremony organized on the eve of Day 3. As a customary tradition followed since the inception of TECHNICA, a Grand Feast was organized to commemorate the legacy of this memorable fest.

TECHNICA'23 -2.

With great enthusiasm and excitement we presented the second day of Techinca'23 under SMES.
The day started with METALMORPH.
This was preliminary round where students were asked MCQs based on Metallography.
And moving to the second event, it was RHETORIX. Students from various colleges presented their ideas on modern topics.
Next, IPS was the 3rd event where students were asked to give their ideas about burning topics in Iron and Steel Industry.
Next forth event was QUIZZICA which was full of fun and facts. It was quizzing event covering all domains of science,brain teasers and general awareness.
And next event was RHETORIX again where remaining students presented their ideas and innovation.
And moving to next event, It was QUIZZICA final round.
And the last event for which we all were waiting was CULTURAL NIGHT. It was full of high energy and entertainment. Dance, singing,rap and poetry were presented by participants.
And finally day-2 ended with happy faces.

TECHNICA'23 -1.

The roller coaster ride has begun .The grandeur of Technica 23 continues .

On 06.01.2023, Technica witnessed its first day full of enthusiasm and vigour. The day commenced with the inaugration ceremony having the dignitaries of tata steel and IIM as the chief guest.
After the ceremony Rhetorix took place close to 10: 30am in which the young metallurgist presented their astounding ideas for development of country in the field of metallurgy. Soon after this some students left for NML (National Metallurgical Laboratory) nearly at 12 :45 pm. At 3pm and 5pm the Metal quiz and quizzica had its first round. Following this was the cut throat competition among our coders , The codeiac.

Whilst the VSG was getting ready for cultural night, it was reverberating with the ardour of students practicing for cultural night. No longer had the lunch finished than the second slot of rhetorix presentation got down to business. In evening the first round of aptitude test of metarathon (the mock placement drive contest) took place which would no doubt make the students to gear up for their future endeavours.
The day ended with the anticipation of having the next day more enlivening and full of excitement.
