The National Skill Training Institute, Jamshedpur (Formerly known as Foremen Training Institute - FTI) was set up in year 1982 by the Government of India Ministry of Skill Development & Entrepreneurship, Directorate General Training to cater multifarious requirements of Industrial Training activities & more specifically. It was targeted to need the highly skilled technicians with supervisory & managerial skill. NSTI, Jamshedpur is committed to consistently maintain supply of skilled manpower as well as Supervisory Development, to sustain the Industrial growth in this part of the country.

OUR VISION: To develop the institute of national/ international importance in imparting Technical Training to Instructors and Industrial workforce/ supervisors and Engineers in key Engineering & non- Engineering areas.

OUR MISSION: To continuously update and upgrade the working skills/ knowledge of Instructors, Industrial workface/ Supervisors and Engineer in key Engineering & non- Engineering areas and also to optimize the gap between academics and industrial / technical institutes.
