World Book Day and Copyright Day is celebrated on 23rd April by UNESCO to promote intellectual property. It honours the impact of books, acts as cultural bridge, encourages literacy and marks the anniversary of significant literacy figures like Shakespeare.
DAV Public School Bistupur Jamshedpur celebrated this day on 13.05 26 to promote love for reading, writing and the importance of books in our lives. Copyright means respecting the hard work of authors and creators so that they get credit for their work.

DAV Public School, Bistupur, Jamshedpur organised Choral Recitation and Elocution Competition 2026 on 14 May 2026 in the school auditorium, showcasing the creativity and confidence of young learners. Students from Class I to Class VI participated in the Choral Recitation, and students from Classes VII to X displayed their oratory skills in the Elocution contest.
The event offered a platform for students to express themselves through poems, stories, and speeches on themes of nature, empathy, the power of mind, creativity and family bonding. Performances ranged from humorous to thought-provoking, impressing the audience with clarity, poise, and articulation.
Mrs Pragya Singh, Principal cm ARO, DAV Public Schools, Zone - E, congratulated the participants, emphasizing that the spoken word becomes meaningful only when enriched with genuine emotion.
The success of the programme was attributed to the collaborative efforts of teachers, students, and school management.
A distinguished panel of judges including Dr Basudhara Roy, Professor, Karim City College, Jamshedpur, Mrs Sharmistha Roy, Senior teacher, Narbheram Hansraj English School, Jamshedpur and Ms Manali Chowdhury, HOD, English Department, JUSCO Kasidih High School, Jamshedpur praised the participants for their eloquence and encouraged them to pursue excellence in public speaking and creative expression.
The event culminated in a Prize Distribution Ceremony, wherein the Winners and Runners up of different categories were felicitated with trophies, certificates and sweets in recognition of their meritorious performances.
At the end, on behalf of Team Aurora vote of thanks was proposed by Deputy Head Girl, Sakshi Mahato of Class XII A5.

DAV Public School, Bistupur celebrated Mother’s Day with great joy and enthusiasm on 09.05.2026 for the students of Std. I & II on the theme “Nature – Our First Mother.” Around 80 mothers participated in creative and fun-filled activities along with their children, making the event truly memorable.
The programme also marked Rabindra Jayanti, where Gurudev Rabindranath Tagore was remembered through songs and dance performances by the students.
Principal Mrs. Pragya Singh encouraged mothers to spend quality time with their children and be positive role models in their lives. The celebration beautifully reflected love, creativity, bonding, and togetherness.

A PPT Presentation Competition was organized for the students of Classes VI to VIII on the topic “Concerns of AI and Cyber Safety” in the school AV Hall on 7 and 8 May 2026. The event aimed to create awareness among students about the responsible use of Artificial Intelligence and safe online practices.
Students participated enthusiastically and presented informative slides on various topics such as cyberbullying, online scams, data privacy, misuse of AI, digital addiction, and methods to stay safe on the internet.
The participants explained the advantages of AI along with its possible risks in a clear and creative manner.The judges appreciated the confidence, presentation skills, and research work of the students.

DAV Public School, Bistupur, Jamshedpur proudly celebrates the achievements of its students at the ASMITA Taekwondo City League 2026, a nationwide initiative promoting women in sports under Khelo India and the Sports Authority of India.
Organized by the District Administration, East Singhbhum, at Swarnarekha Kshetra Vikash Trust, Baridih, Jamshedpur on 26 April 2026, the event witnessed enthusiastic participation from our young athletes.
