K.C INTERNATIONAL SCHOOL CELEBRATED WORLD LABOUR DAY
World Labour Day was celebrated in K.C International School on May 1, 2015.A special assembly was held in which the students spoke about the origin and importance of the day. The helping staff of the school was appreciated. The principal Ms. Maya Mishra felicitated the workers with gifts and expressed her gratitude towards them.

CLUB DISPLAY AT KCIS
On May 2 ,2015, a club display session was conducted at KCIS. In the Club Display , different clubs of the school showcased their skills. The faculty of KCIS emphasis not only on the education but on the overall development of their children. There are 21 clubs in the school for senior classes (6th to 10th) and through these clubs children are given the platforms to enhance their talent and their confidence level as well. Different clubs are organised according to the areas of interest of different children. When in `Club Display`, the children were given the opportunity to display their talent, they displayed it with full zeal and enthusiasm. Skating club displayed short sprint, long races, and some safety methods . Music club students played guitar , piano and symphony and moreover sang an English song. Under the guidance of Mr.Ashok , the students of atheletics club presented a 50 meter race. Taekwondo club demonstrated Martial arts .KCites also displayed their cooking talent. Students of debating club presented debates on various topics like internet, should homework be given or not?etc. Math club students explained to make the nets of solids with some hand made papers. I.T club students displayed their typing skills, formatting styles and displayed text in various font size , font types and colors in MS Word. The students of drama club displayed a play on the theme `save girl child` with great excitement and fervor. Judo club had also displayed various techniques on the stage. In science club,students made `Hydraulic folding bridge` and `Active valcano`. The other clubs like table tennis, football, volleyball,eco club also had their presentations on the day. Art club students made canvas painting and their theme was modern art. The students of calligraphy club displayed cursive writing and the presentation was beautiful. All these clubs displayed their talent under the guidance of their respective teacher mentors. Mrs. Rajni Malhotra , the activity coordinator KCIS , was the incharge of the programme . The club displayed was reviewed by Mrs. Maya Mishra, principal KCIS.
K.C INTERNATIONAL SCHOOL CELEBRATED EARTH DAY
Earth Day was celebrated in K.C International School to make students aware about the importance of our Mother Planet and its environment.
A special assembly was held in the school campus. It started with the prayer followed by the thought of the day and news. Children presented a short skit on Save Environment. Some students spoke on the topic related to Earth. The students also white washed the trunk of the trees and took out a rally in the school premises during recess that marked and showed their respect for the Mother Earth. They held banners with thought provoking slogans which is a wakeup call and will help to reinforce the need to take some action to save our precious Earth. The power was shut off for half an hour from 10:30 am to 11:00 am to save electricity.
Roots and Shoots Eco Club was also installed in the school .Through the club; the school has made a commitment towards saving Earth. The students undertook a signature drive wherein the visitors coming to the school were motivated to pledge to save the Earth.
The Principal, Ms. Maya Mishra also gave stress on making the efforts to keep our environment clean and green.

KCIS WON INTERNATIONAL SCHOOL AWARD BY THE BRITISH COUNCIL
KC International School won the International School Award by the British Council. The school has taken up year long activities. The students and teachers had worked upon the projects for an entire year.
The projects which were selected ranged from different subjects some of the topics were – A voyage of Political Arena, Cherishing Childhood, Knowing National Symbols, etc. The assessors of the dossier have made a special mention related to the good collaboration and online work done by the students of KCIS with two International schools. One partner school was in Greece and another one was in Turkey.
A special mention has also been made about the project cherishing childhood. This project brought out the issue of child labour and it helped to spread awareness about the same among the students.
The Vice Chairman Mr. Chaitanya Chowdhary and Principal, Mrs. Maya Mishra congratulated the entire staff of KCIS for putting in sincere efforts. The programmed was delegated by Mrs. Kesar Patel. the ISA coordinator.

K.C INTERNATIONAL ORGANISED INVESTITURE CEREMONY
Investiture ceremony was held at K.C International School on April 25, 2015 to induct new council members for the session 2015-16. The whole process was a small representation of the spirit of democracy. The ceremony began with the welcome address followed by the floral felicitation of the Chief Guest Brig.(Retd.) Saranjit S. Sahney, Guests of Honour, Mrs. Sahney & Dr. Chand Trehan by the Principal Ms. Maya Mishra.
The ceremony was witnessed by the parents of elected members including the Head Boy Master Vansh Vaid, Head Girl Miss Muskaan Sharma, Sports Captain Miss Nikhita Kapoor and other members of cabinet. The Prefects were given badges and sashes by the dignities which are not only the indicators of their designation but constant reminders making them aware of their responsibilities.
The newly elected council took the oath and promised to shoulder responsibilities bestowed upon them. It was followed by a small cultural program. A dance item was presented by the students wherein they showed that unity is the key for team work and it is an essential element for success.
Thereafter, the Principal, Ms. Maya Mishra congratulated the council members and blessed them. The Head Mistress Ms. Kesar Patel extended the vote of thanks.
The program ended with the National Anthem.

KCIS CONDUCTS INTER HOUSE SPELLATHON COMPETITION
Spelling games like Crosswords, spellex, etc fascinate people. These competitions are held to improve and enhance the pronunciation and vocabulary of the students. Keeping this in view, KCIS organized Inter House Spellathon Competition for classes IV to XI. The students from all the houses i.e. Emerald, Ruby, Sapphire and Topaz participated enthusiastically. There were four rounds- General, MCQs, Chit and buzzer round.
In Junior category, Ruby House bagged first position followed by Emerald as the runner up. In senior category, Ruby won the first position and Topaz was the first runner up. The overall winner of the competition was Ruby House and Topaz was the first runner up.
Some interesting facts about spelling were also discussed during the programme. Ms. Randeep Wazir, the Middle school coordinator was the guest of honour. The Vice Principal, Mr. Isaac Daniel congratulated the winners.
The programme was anchored by Ms. Sonia Verma and coordinated by Ms. Rajni Malhotra-Activity coordinator.

KC International celebrated Baisakhi and B.R. Ambedkar's Jayanti on 13th April, 2015
The students and the staff of KC International School celebrated B.R. Ambedkar's Jayanti and Baisakhi with great zeal and enthusiasm. A special assembly was held to mark the occasion. A floral tribute was given to the father of the Indian constitution, Dr. B. R. Ambedkar. The celebration began with a group song followed by a speech explaining the significance of the day. The purpose was to make the students aware about the historical background significance and relevance of Baisakhi.
The Vice-Principal, Mr. Isaac Daniel addressed the assembly and wished everyone a Very Happy Baisakhi and emphasised on the significance of Dr. Ambedkar Day.
World Health Day Celebrated at KCIS
K.C. International School celebrated World Health Day on 7th April, 2015. The main purpose of the program was to educate students about cleanliness and to draw attention towards the importance of good health. World Health Organization has given the slogan from ‘Farm to Plate make food safe’. On these guidelines the school assembly was conducted.
Dr. Satish Sharma was the chief guest. He delivered a lecture on oral hygiene and also motivated students to make efforts in creating healthy environment. Various activities were performed primary block.
Students of class I, II and III wrote five energy booster habits.
The students of class IV and V along with the teachers Ms. Sabita Rajput and Ms. Tavinder Kour visited slum areas and donated Napthelene bottles and Dettol soaps. They presented a skit to spread awareness about cleanliness and hygiene in the slum areas of Trikuta Nagar and Shastri Nagar.
The Vice Principal Mr. Isaac Daniel was present on the occasion and the Head mistress Ms. Kesar Patel extended the vote of thanks.

The students of K.C. INTERNATIONAL Explored the world of IONS and their Reactions with the passage of electric current.They experimented on "ELECTROLYSIS "and its Mechanism.
Conclusion :- Students have l;earned how ions are formed by passaging of electric current by the process of Electrolysis.

National Symbols Activity at KCIS
The students of KC International School, Jammu participated in ‘Knowing National Symbols’ an activity conducted as a part of the British Council Projects. The students researched on the National Symbols and flags of some of the countries of the world. They presented a scrap book on their findings. The students of Pre-Primary class I and class II also presented a fashion show depicting the different dresses of these countries. The students also spoke a few lines about it. The different topics were given to the students National animal, national flower and national sport. The students learnt to play hockey, the national game of India, cricket the national game of Unied Kingdom and watched documentaries on rugby and rugby players.
Ms. Ameet Kour was the teacher co-ordinator for the entire programme. This is a project in collaboration with British Council.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Ravi Bhushan, Principal stated that the students get to know about different countries by working on such international projects.
KC International school is working in collaboration with a school in Sri Lanka for this project. The students of KCIS have uploaded the scrap books to the students in Sri Lanka. The Sri Lankan students are also working on the same lines.

KCIS Contributes for the Flood Victims
The students, staff and Management of KC International School Jammu contributed generously for the flood victims of Jammu and Kashmir. The state of J&K suffered a natural calamity the floods which caused havoc and there was huge destruction of life and property. The students of KC International School came forward whole heartedly to lend a helping hand to the state authorities. The students contributed well towards the cause. A cheque of Rs. 50,000/- was donated to the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund. The cheque was handed over to the Deputy Commissioner, Mr. Ajit Sahu by the students and staff members.
Principal, Dr. Ravi Bhushan said that such acts of charity reduce the troubles in the world.
