Students of MSc Nursing 1st Year, Mental Health Nursing Department, celebrated “World Schizophrenia Day” at Govt. Psychiatric Diseases Hospital, Jammu. On this occasion, the students provided psychoeducation regarding schizophrenia to create awareness about the condition. They also engaged patients in various group activities to promote interaction and participation. In addition, the students educated patients and caregivers about the harmful effects of substance abuse and the importance of maintaining mental well-being.

Students of M.Sc Nursing 2nd year Community Health Nursing department organized an Organ Donation Pledge Drive in collaboration with State Organ and Tissue Transplant Organization, Jammu. Dr. Poonam Mahajan, Joint Director, Ms. Anshu Sharma, Consultant (IEC/Media), Mr. Irfan Ahmad Lone, Transplant Coordinator, Ms. Nisha Kumari, Program Assistant cm DEO, SOTTO, J&K graced the occasion. Students enthusiastically participated in the pledge drive and expressed their commitment towards creating awareness. During the programme, students who actively participated in Naman Diwas activities were felicitated and appreciated for their dedication, creativity, and enthusiastic involvement. Certificates were distributed to the participants by the respected dignitaries and faculty members.

On 16-05-2026, the students of M.Sc. Nursing 1st Year from the Community Health Nursing Department — Aparna, Monika, and Jatin — participated in a guest lecture and Dengue Awareness Program conducted by Mr. Surinder Sharma (Malaria Inspector) at SDH Hospital, Kot Bhalwal.

The program was organized to educate the public about the prevention, symptoms, and control measures of dengue fever. It aimed to spread awareness among the community regarding mosquito-borne diseases and to promote healthy practices for the prevention of dengue.

As part of the Nasha Mukt Abhiyan, Mrs. Mini Patiyal, Associate Professor of Bee Enn College of Nursing, delivered a guest lecture on substance abuse awareness at Government College of Engineering and Technology in the Mechanical Block. The session focused on spreading awareness regarding the harmful effects of drug abuse and the importance of leading a healthy and drug-free life.
The students of Bee Enn College of Nursing also actively participated in the programme by performing a mime act highlighting the consequences of substance abuse and took a pledge against “Nasha” to promote a drug-free society. The activities effectively conveyed the message of “Say No to Drugs and Yes to Life.”
