Promoting Wellness and Harmony - JK Public School, Kunjwani Celebrates International Yoga Day

JK Public School, Kunjwani observed International Yoga Day with great fervour and active participation from the teaching and non-teaching staff. The programme aimed to spread awareness about the importance of yoga in maintaining physical fitness, mental well-being, and emotional balance.

The highlight of the programme was a rejuvenating yoga session conducted by Ms. Riya Gupta, a trained and highly experienced Yoga Teacher of JK Public School. With remarkable expertise, energy and dedication, she led the participants through a series of yoga asanas, pranayama techniques and meditation exercises. Her clear instructions and encouraging guidance enabled everyone to perform the postures with ease and confidence. She elaborated on the significance and benefits of each asana, emphasizing how regular yoga practice improves flexibility, concentration, immunity, posture and overall well-being while helping to reduce stress and anxiety.

The teachers and staff members participated wholeheartedly in the session, displaying great interest and commitment throughout the session. Their active involvement created a positive and vibrant atmosphere, reflecting their collective enthusiasm for adopting healthy lifestyle practices.

Participants followed each exercise with sincerity and discipline, making the session both enriching and enjoyable. The spirit of cooperation and camaraderie among the staff added to the success of the event, turning it into a truly refreshing and memorable experience for all.

International Yoga Day Celebration

To foster a more positive, inclusive and emotionally resonant learning environment, JK Public School, Kunjwani organized a comprehensive faculty development workshop on “Happy Classrooms” for the entire teaching fraternity of the school in the Nelsum Millennium Hall of the School.

The workshop was conducted by the eminent educationist, visionary and career counsellor, Dr.Atul Hans, Director Academics-cum-Principal of International Daily Rising School, Jammu.

The event commenced with a traditional lamp-lighting ceremony symbolizing the invocation of knowledge and wisdom. Dr.Atul Hans was warmly welcomed and felicitated by Ms. Shuchi Gupta, Principal of JK Public School, Kunjwani. The Academic Coordinator Senior Wing, Ms. Parvinder Kour,  School Coordinator Ms. Nilly Pachnanda, Preparatory Wing Coordinator Ms. Meenu Chib and Toddlers’ World Coordinator Ms. Shivangini Pangotra were also present.

During the session, Dr. Atul masterfully connected historical context with modern educational reforms. He introduced the core philosophies of the National Education Policy (NEP) and the National Curriculum Framework (NCF) by drawing powerful parallels from the classic tale of Dronacharya and Eklavya, emphasizing the evolving nature of the teacher-student relationship. He also took the faculty on a historical journey, discussing the profound impact of various historical kingdoms on India’s educational evolution, while tracing the trajectory of successive NEPs implemented in India post-independence.

The workshop was highly interactive, punctuated by engaging ice-breaking sessions that kept the faculty energized and collaborative. A major focus of the discourse was on adaptive pedagogy—equipping teachers with strategies to cater to diverse students with varying learning abilities.

Dr. Atul Hans underscored the importance of "Joyful Learning" as a cornerstone for student happiness. He defined the distinct types of happiness, decoded the structure of a successful 'Happiness Curriculum' and highlighted Emotional Learning as a primary objective of the NEP.

JK Public School, Kunjwani conducted a Capacity Building Programme on “Interactive and Engaging Teaching Methodology” for the entire teaching fraternity of its Institution.

The objective of this programme was enhancing teachers' professional competencies and equipping them with innovative pedagogical approaches aligned with the vision and recommendations of National Education Policy (NEP) 2020.

The programme commenced with warm welcome of the distinguished Guest, Ms. Rohini Aima, Vice Chairperson-cum-Principal, Jammu Sanskriti School, Jammu. The formal inauguration of the workshop took place with ceremonial lighting of the lamp, symbolizing the dispelling of ignorance and the illumination of knowledge.

The occasion was graced by Director, JK Educational Society, Ms. Shashi Choudhary, the School Principal, Ms. Shuchi Gupta, Vice Principal Ms. Inderjeet Kaur, School Coordinator Ms. NillyPachnanda, Primary Wing Coordinator, Ms. Meenu Chib, Toddlers’ Wing Coordinator; Ms. Shivangni Pandotra and faculty members of the school.

The workshop was expertly conducted by Ms. Rohini Aima, who facilitated an enriching and insightful session on contemporary teaching methodologies and classroom engagement strategies. She emphasized the importance of transforming classrooms into dynamic learning spaces that foster active student participation, critical thinking, creativity and meaningful learning experiences.

Ms Rohini elaborated on a wide range of innovative pedagogical approaches recommended under NEP 2020, including Experiential Learning, differentiated instruction, Real-Life Connect, Collaborative Learning, Inquiry-Based Learning, Activity-Based Learning, Competency-Based Education, Reflective Practices and Student-Centred Teaching Methodologies.

Through interactive discussions, practical examples and collaborative activities, participants explored effective ways to cater to diverse learning needs and create inclusive classroom environments.

The session witnessed meaningful interaction between the resource person and the participants, making the workshop highly engaging, informative and reflective.

Teachers shared their classroom experiences, exchanged ideas and discussed practical strategies for implementing innovative teaching practices in their daily instruction.

The programme reinforced the institution's commitment to academic excellence and the holistic development of both educators and learners.

The workshop concluded on a highly positive note with a Vote of Thanks delivered by Ms. Inderjeet Kaur, Vice Principal, who expressed heartfelt gratitude to the resource person, Ms Rohini Aima and the school management, organizing team and all participating teachers for their enthusiastic involvement and valuable contributions towards making the programme a grand success.

The Capacity Building Programme proved to be a highly enriching experience, providing educators with valuable insights, practical tools and innovative strategies to make teaching more interactive, engaging and effective thereby strengthening the school's commitment to excellence in education.
