Government College of Engineering and Technology, Jammu

on 5th October, 1994 at Old University Campus, Canal Road, Jammu. New Campus of GCET has also come up on an area of 869 Kanals of land at Chak Bhalwal, Jammu near Amb Ghrota which is 22 Kms. The College New Campus was inaugurated by the then Hon’ble Chief Minister Jenab Ghulam Nabi Azad on August 12, 2006. So far three engineering blocks Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering and Computer Engineering blocks besides Common Lecture Halls, Workshop and two Hostel blocks have been constructed and the construction of Electrical Engineering and Administrative blocks is under progress. Nine Academic Departments are involved in the Teaching/Training work from 1st to 8th Semesters i.e. Five concerned Engineering Departments and Four Applied Sciences Departments of Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and Humanities & Social Sciences and recently a new department has been introduced Architecture and Planning.
