The Working Alumni Association of School of Tourism and Hospitality department, Jammu University organized a mega annual Alumni meet hosted at Ritz Manor Hotel, Jammu, Sponsored by Talla Jewellers and other partners.

In order to continue one of the fundamental aims of the SHTM Family, the development of networking opportunities, this exclusive club organized an annual meeting which was open to all alumni. The alumni met on 12th November 2015 followed by Lunch and Dj dance party under the title “Reconnecting Roots”.

Speaking at the inaugural of the event, Prof. Parikshat Singh Manhas, Director of SHTM apprised the alumni about the various initiatives; the department has taken including a Non Profit Initiative, STOP (Step towards Overall Peace) towards overall peace in the region keeping Tourism as an effective tool. A Panel discussion was also hosted on topic of Tourism in which present students of department participated and asked various questions related to their aspects and growth in tourism sector from Alumni working in various companies.

Post the formal sessions, the alumni spent some lighter moments by participating in the games and cultural events organized for them followed by a networking lunch.

Prof. Anil Gupta thanked the alumni for their support and enthusiasm shown towards the institution. Co-ordination of this reunion was done jointly by the Working Alumni Association Members and students from departments.
