Special Parent Teacher meeting (PTM) at Govt Hari Singh, higher Secondary School, Jammu
In compliance with Government Order no.DSEJ/coord/2026/27293-27309, a special parent teacher meeting (PTM) was conducted today on 06-06- 2026 in Government Hari Singh, higher Secondary School, Jammu.The meeting was organised to strengthen school parent collaboration and to sensitze parents regarding their role in supporting the holistic development and academic progress of their wards during the summer vacation period. A total of 18 parents representing students from different classes attended the meeting. During the meeting parents were sensitized about their vital role in ensuring that students remain meaningfully engaged in constructive learning activities during the vacation period.They were advised to monitor their wards academic activities regularly and encourage them to utilise their time productively.Special emphasis was laid on safeguarding the health, safety and overall well being of students during summer break.
- The parents were also advised and motivated to obtain the birth certificates of their wards, wherever pending and submit the same to the school before the commencement of summer vacations for proper updation and maintenance of school records.
- A detailed briefing on the digital learning initiatives of the school education department,J&K being implemented through the Vidya samiksha Kendra (VSK) was delivered by Mr.Anil Kumar, Lecturer Zoology.He informed parents about the features and benefits of platforms such as Digilearn,J&K study Buddy and parents pulse Bot and encouraged them to actively utilise these digital resources to support the continuous learning of their children and remain connected with their academic progress.
- The teaching staff of the school activity participated in the proceedings of the PTM and contributed significantly towards making the programme meaningful and impactful.
- An interactive session was held during which parents shared their views and feedback.The parents expressed the satisfaction with the teaching learning process, academic environment and discipline maintained in the school.
- The meeting concluded on a positive note with parents assuring their full cooperation in implementing the recommendations and initiatives discussed during the interaction.

Under the visionary leadership of Principal Mrs Charu Anand, the morning assembly at Govt. Hari Singh Higher Secondary School, Jammu, was conducted by Eco House on the theme "Creative Awareness" as part of the 3-Month IEC Programme under Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan and the observance of World Environment Day.
The assembly witnessed an inspiring and innovative presentation by the students, who formed a human chain displaying the message "SAY NO TO DRUGS". This powerful visual representation effectively spread awareness about the harmful effects of substance abuse and reinforced the importance of adopting a healthy, drug-free lifestyle.
Marking World Environment Day, a plantation drive was also organized within the school premises in the esteemed presence of Hon'ble MP Shri Jugal Kishore Sharma Ji, Hon'ble MLA Shri Yudhvir Sethi Ji, and Smt. Priya Sethi Ji. The initiative emphasized the significance of environmental conservation, sustainable living, and the urgent need to enhance green cover for a healthier future.
The programme successfully instilled among students a sense of social and environmental responsibility, motivating them to become active contributors towards a greener environment and a drug-free society.
Government Hari Singh HSS, Jammu, organized a grand function to mark the release of its annual school magazine “Virasat-1” and to felicitate the meritorious students of the academic session 2025–26. The event was conducted under the gracious guidance of the worthy Principal Mam, Mrs. Charu Anand.
The function was graced by the esteemed presence of Hon’ble MLA Jammu East, Sh. Yudhvir Sethi Ji, as the Chief Guest, and the Chief Education Officer, Jammu, Sh. Ajeet Sharma Ji, as the Guest of Honour. The programme began with a warm welcome of the dignitaries, followed by the formal release of the school magazine “Virasat-1”, which reflects the creative talent, literary contributions, and achievements of the students.
Addressing the gathering, the Chief Education Officer, Sh. Ajeet Sharma Ji, spoke about the rich history and legacy of the school. He congratulated the students for their achievements and emphasized the importance of discipline and dedication in academics. He also advised students to stay away from drug addiction and lead a healthy and responsible life.
The Chief Guest, Hon’ble MLA Sh. Yudhvir Sethi Ji, appreciated the efforts of the school in nurturing young minds and congratulated the students for their excellent performance. He announced several developmental initiatives for the school, including the installation of a statue of Maharaja Hari Singh Ji, provision of a water cooler, and the widening of the approach road to improve accessibility.
The meritorious students were honoured with awards and certificates in recognition of their hard work and academic excellence, inspiring others to strive for success.
Principal Mam, Mrs. Charu Anand, in her address expressed her heartfelt gratitude to the Chief Guest and Guest of Honour for their valuable presence and support. She congratulated the students and appreciated the dedication of the teaching staff in achieving academic excellence.

Peace House conducted today’s morning assembly at Govt. Hari Singh HSS, Jammu under the proficient guidance of Principal Mam Mrs. Charu Anand. The assembly was part of the ongoing 3-month IEC Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan, aimed at promoting a drug-free lifestyle.
The assembly began with the morning prayer, followed by a brief introduction to the campaign. Students presented an impactful skit highlighting the harmful effects of drug abuse and the importance of making responsible choices. Adding depth and engagement to the performance, Vinod Sir contributed by performing a thematic song integrated into the skit
Principal Mam addressed the students, emphasizing the significance of the Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan and encouraging everyone to lead a healthy, drug-free life. She also congratulated the team of Peace House for the well-performed and meaningful skit.

Today’s morning assembly at Govt. Hari Singh HSS, Jammu, was conducted by Peace House under the encouraging guidance of Principal Mam Mrs. Charu Anand and focused on health awareness and social responsibility.
The highlight of the assembly was an awareness programme on cervical cancer and HPV vaccination, organized in collaboration with Unnat NGO. The session, conducted by Mrs. Neena Abrol, covered its causes, symptoms, and the importance of early detection, while also highlighting the role of the HPV vaccine in prevention and encouraging students to spread awareness.
As part of the three-month IEC (Information, Education, and Communication) campaign under the Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan, pamphlets were distributed among students to raise awareness about the harmful effects of drug abuse and to promote a drug-free lifestyle.
Principal Mam expressed her gratitude to the team from Unnat NGO for conducting such an enlightening session. She also encouraged students to actively contribute to spreading awareness
